"Aw~ Thanks Husky!" Nifty stated with a bright smile as she took the book Husk had bought for her. It was the next book in a series he knew she liked, and she hadn't been able to find any time to go buy the next copy, so he'd done it for her.

"Yeah, yeah, whatever..." Husk grumbled, sipping the drink he had with him.

"If you wanna read this one with me like we did with the last one, I'd be more than happy to!" Nifty exclaimed, bouncing on her heels, "I had a lot of fun reading it with you."

Husk, seriously hoping his face wasn't turning pink, looked away and mumbled, "Yeah sure...if you want."

"Great!" Nifty quickly wrapped a tight hug around the cat's middle, surprisingly strong for such a little lady, before bounding off down to her room to put her new book away before she went back to her cleaning duties, "See you later, Husk!"

The bartender allowed himself to smile just a bit over how cheerful Nifty could be. Not many people in the infernal pit they lived in could be so truly full of energy and joy. It was no wonder Charlie and Nifty got along so well, and it was no wonder Alastor had wanted Nifty at the hotel to begin with. Husk had never excepted Nifty's smiles and kindness to extend to him though, and when it did, he found himself at a total loss as to what he should do. He guessed he actually didn't mine having her around, since she didn't annoy him as much as most people did. Hell...maybe they were even friends.

Angel Dust leaned over the bar at that moment, a sly smile on his face, "Aw~ I thought we had somethin' special, Husk~ Neva thought ya'd shack up with the maid."

"Piss off." Husk growled at the teasing, swinging his beer so the spider couldn't see how the teasing was starting to make his face hot.

"So how would you two work with such a size difference and all?"

"Go fuck yourself, Angel."

"What? I'm just curious."

"It's none of your damn business."

"You like her, dontcha~?"

Husk nearly choked on his drink, "What the- no!"

The spider started wheezing, gripping onto the bar top to keep himself standing upright, "Oh my god- you're blushing so hard right now-!"

"Fuck off!" Husk yelled, his eyes starting to scan the room for Alastor, "Where the hell is that fucking deer!? Go bother him!"

"He's busy. Why do ya think I'm buggin' your hairy ass?" Angel Dust sat at the bar, starting to calm himself, "Not that your ass ain't nice to look at~"

"Don't you think flirting with me while you're screwing Alastor is a bad idea?" Husk hoped reminding the ex-hooker that he was in a committed relationship would get him to stop talking.

"Husk, I would neva try anything. I like what I have with Al, but flirting with ya is a hell of a lot of fun. It gets ya all sorts of peeved, and it's cute to watch.

"I..." The cat wasn't sure how to react to being called cute, and decided not to say anything and just go back to drinking his booze.

"Anyways, would ya whip me up an apple martini?" Angel propped his head up on the bar, "And give me some of those bar peanuts ya keep here? Thanks babe~" Angel winked, making Husk roll his eyes as he got him the order.

"Are you done annoying me now?"

"Not yet~" Angel admitted, sipping his martini, "Damn, you always make these really good."

"What do you want, Angel?" Husk growled again.

"Husk, doll, don't act so hostile. I just wanna know if ya plan on takin' a shot with little Nifty. Ya always act so sweet on her compared to everyone else. Call me nosy, but I can't help but wonder if the two of ya are eva gonna become a thing." Angel didn't sound teasing at all with his word, which surprised Husk a little. He honestly didn't believe Angel Dust could go two words without profanity, teasing someone, or flirting.
