Superb Spies
Larry was going through a box of old antiques from their past. "Weird there was no cold open in this episode." A watch caught Larry's eyes. It was their Grandpa's Watch. The Watch wasn't worth much, but it had much sentimental value. Stories of the War and some unrealistic school stories.
Larry decided to wear the Watch. They left their bedroom and walked into the living room. Kayla and Natalie were spread out on the couch in pajamas, watching a popular romcom, Winter's Wed. Larry sat in their seat, not paying attention to the show, but checking if the batteries of the watch still worked. Larry clicked the green button and the digital watch turned on. The red one was to turn it off, but there was also a yellow button. Probably to change the time.
Before they could test it, Larry's phone suddenly rang. The Mayor was on the other line, "Hello Larry, meet me in the park at noon, I have some news you might want to hear." The call ended.
Larry turned to the cuddling duo, "Dumb Romcom's over, we've got a job to do."
Kayla and Natalie groaned. Natalie sank deeper into the couch, "The new season just dropped, which means we have to binge the entire thing." She reached for some spilled popcorn on the sofa.
Larry sighed, "This isn't live TV, you can just continue when we get back."
Kayla slid off the couch, thudding into the floor, "Ugh, fine."
Larry walked into their large garage and started the engine of the van. Kayla and Natalie dragged themselves into the van and slammed the door behind them.
The Car Ride to the Park...
The girls sat silently in the back in protest. Larry noticed Kayla was wearing a suit, "Kayla, trying to look extra dapper today?"
Kayla looked to Natalie quickly then to Larry, "Y'know, I would beat the shit out of you if we didn't have the pact."
Larry giggled somewhat maniacally, "Ah yes, the pact." The silence began once again. Larry thought for a second, "Y'know, Bill sounded nasally on the phone." More silence emerged. Larry groaned, "How the hell are you this pissed about watching a dumb romcom."
Kayla became angrily alert, "Romcoms aren't dumb, they're funny and mushy."
Natalie put a hand on Kayla to signal for her to calm down, who in turn blushed, "Everyone has their own opinion."
"But sometimes those opinions are wrong." Larry added.
Kayla jolted forward, "Why, you little shit!" Suddenly, everyone jolted forward. Larry shook their head, coming back to reality. They stepped out of the car, realizing they had crashed.
Larry sighed, "Shit! Why is it always Bill's car?!"
The Park...
The trio walked cautiously through the foggy, seemingly abandoned park. They had only seen one person, Gene Eric, who was only walking past the park. Larry sniffed the thin air, "Maybe he needs us to help refurbish the park."
Kayla smirked, "Be realistic, he knows I won't do shit."
A figure appeared, facing away from them in the dense fog. Larry squinted at the figure, "Bill, is that you?"
