Present~
Calum's POV~
"Hey Kiwi." I heard Sarah call to me as I walked through the door.
"Sup Butterscotch." I replied, making us both laugh.
"How was your day yesterday?" She asked me as she struggled to sit up. I helped her by sitting her up myself and putting pillows behind her she could rest on.
"Oh it was wonderful!" I exclaimed happily as I sat beside her on the hospital bed, crossing my legs and looking at her happily.
"How so?" She chuckled at my enthusiasm.
"Well, the little girl we adopted a week ago, Selena. You remember her?" Sarah nodded softly. "Chase took the three of us roller skating and it was so fun. I fell onto my butt so many times but Selena was a natural. We love her so much. She's so adorable and just ah." I gushed.
I feel like such a girl.
"She is adorable to be honest Cali." Sarah laughed.
"I'm so glad management made us adopt a child. I get we were getting pretty irresponsible, but I'm happy we were because we have such a lively child running around. And what makes it better was that I signed the papers so she's Selena Hood, not Hemmings, Clifford, or Irwin. Hood." I smiled widely.
"I told you that you would be a cute father." Sarah giggles and I pouted playfully.
"Shut up." I pouted.
"Never." She smiled.
"Ever?" I asked.
"Ever."
Twenty-Eight days earlier~
Sarah's POV~
The rising weakness of my body was impossible to hide, as I have been struggling to do any activity now a days.
My family, always having an air of sadness as I slowly walked past them.
And now, I lay in my bed, long since giving up to stand and do my minor activities of the day. I lay there, thinking of all the things I could have done with my life, but didn't.
All because a stupid game of tag.
It's ironic really, how one minor event could change the course of a person's life. I always imagine if I had never gotten lost in L.A., would I have made it this far? Would I have met my friends? Would Luke have a career with the others?
He wouldn't. Because he met the other three when he was going through depression and anxiety.
Allot of people wouldn't be here today, rocking their careers and living their lives if I never got lost those years ago.
Most important of all, Stella would still be alive.
To think I won't get to see my brother's daughter be born, or my new brother.
Then earlier this week, Maddie came by and we had a meeting in my room, Luke, Maddie, and I, and we decided.
If the baby was a girl, they would name her Bridgit, is it was a boy, they would name him Harry, because Larry is life.
I slowly lifted my hand and patted Lukey's head, who whimpered and snuggled closer to me, comforting me slightly.
"Hey Sarah. How you feelin'?" Luke asked from my doorway.
"Peachy. Can you help me sit up?" I asked nicely.
"Sure thing." He said rushing over and sitting me up. He sat beside me and set the tray of breakfast he brought somewhere near. Lukey immediately perked up, panting and wagging his tail, as it consistenly hit my leg.
