Destiny Lashae
"Jaden" I called out to my daughter for the 2nd time. Knowing her she was playing in the makeup that I told her to get out of. Hearing her little feet hit the floor I watched as she ran towards me.
Reaching for me I picked her up placing her on my hip grabbing a wipe to get the blush off of her face. "You ready to go see dada" I asked her watching as her dark brown cheeks turned plum.
Hearing the doorbell, I started to walk towards it grabbing her bag on the way. Opening the door and seeing Jaden I watched as both of them looked like they were exploding with excitement
"Daddy" She screams clapping her hands.
"Junior" He squealed matching her excitement.
Taking her from my hands I watched as he stepped inside closing the door behind him giving me a side hug.
Jaden and I have grown a lot the last few years. He went pro 2 years ago and has kept his promise to remain an active father. He went to every doctor's appointment, recital, and he even wanted to be around to hype her up after she got her hair done.
Our relationship was strictly platonic and that helped to take away drama from co-parenting.
Jaden was in a relationship with an influencer that I got along with pretty well but for some odd reason she felt a way about me.
Other than that, we have done our best to raise our daughter together as a family, but she also knows that her father and I are not together.
Going into the kitchen to finish cooking I heard two different sets of feet coming into the kitchen.
"Yall baby moms can't cook but mines oh mines throw down" I heard turning around and seeing Jaden recording me and then he walked up behind me to record what I was making.
"And do" I say doing the period gesture before he stopped the recording.
"Whatchu cooking ma" He asked sitting at the bar with Jaden in his arms.
"Chicken and noodles with cornbread" I say placing the lid back on the pot and facing them.
"It's giving imma need a plate bookie" he says dead serious causing me to bust out laughing.
"You're a fucking clown bro" I say shaking my head.
"Christina tell your moms stop cursing" he says causing Jaden to look up.
"So, Jaden Christina's birthday is 2 months, and we need to figure out if we are having a party together or 2 separate parties" I say getting serious because we had a lot to talk about.
"I think we should do something intimate just us 3 and then have a separate party for everybody else" he says playing with the ends of her hair.
Smiling I nodded before responding "I like that idea."
"Cool it's settled but in the meantime imma need that plate to go cause my shorty in the car" he says standing up and pulling his pants up in the process.
"Why you ain't invite that girl in" I say looking at him sideways.
"Thats her tripping and shit shorty already know if she doesn't get along witchu her ass good as gone" he responds grabbing Junie before taking the plate from my hands and leaving.
Giving them both a hug and Jaden a kiss I told them I'll see them later before closing the door.
Going into the living room I poured myself a glass of wine before plopping down on the couch.
"Whew" I say after my first sip going to Netflix on the tv before turning on Bridgeton season 2.
