The next few months where hard. I couldn't talk to Pietro about us and Pietro carried out his word. He never asked much about his past, only filling in what was deemed necessary by him. I decided that the best way to continue on was to accept this fact and just become friends with him as we once were. But, what Tony once said to me held true: Sometimes it's better for a dead person to remain dead because seeing them will only pain you. And every day I felt that pain. Every time I talked to him or went on a mission.

The months passed and summer became fall which turned into winter. Snow covered the ground in thick white blankets and icicles hung over my window. It was the perfect day to do nothing. No missions.

I was sitting on the couch reading when Pietro approached me with a cup of tea.

"For you." He said with a smile. "I made it myself."

I accepted the warm cup gratefully. "Thank you."

I took a sip as he continued to stare at me. No more than five minutes after I returned to my book he asked, "Can I ask you a question?"

"You just did." I teased. "But, go ahead."

"Why do you always wear that ring?" He said, pointing to the silver promise ring on my finger.

I hesitated a moment before answering. "It - It was something somebody gave me. They promised that one day we'd get married."

Pietro looked at me, obviously confused. "Who was it?"

"It's complicated."

"What do you mean it's complicated? It's a pretty basic question."

"Not really." I mumbled. "Not when the person who promised it to me only now thinks of me as a friend."

"I sorry, what?"

"It's you тупица!" I snapped.

Pietro's eyes widened. "Excuse me, did you say me?"

"Yeah. You went missing on a mission and forgot me. You'd forgot everything we'd every done together. Even how you promised me that we'd get married and move out by Clint in Missouri. You forgot how we were going to get a dog; A husky and name it Sergei."

Pietro said nothing and looked as if he were trying to remember. Then he picked me up and brought us to Wanda's room.

"Pietro, it's useless. We already tried to have Wanda fix your memory."

"Kiss me." He whispered in my ear. I kissed him with passion as we both seemed to melt into the kiss. He stepped back and I practically fainted from shocked.

"I remember." He said. "I remember everything. I remember how you said that you thought you would never get married and I said that we could fix that because you will find a person you love : One that you'd life and die for because that's who you are. I remember that we were going to get married once we got Starks approval and found a house. I remember the husky we planned to get."

His eyes darted around the room and finally landed on me. My eyes stung as tears threatened to come. He picked me up and spun me around before kissing me again. "I missed you, принцесса."

"You have no idea how lonely it was without you."  I said as I felt tears streak my cheeks as I shamelessly broke into sobs but then I slapped him.

He touched the spot I slapped tenderly. "What was that for??"

"For leaving me."

He nodded, deciding it was best not to question it. "I missed you too, anger and all."

"Good to know." I remarked not even paying any attention. I was too busy taking it all in. "Pietro?"

"Yeah?"

I swallowed hard before continuing. "Do you still feel the same about me?"

"No." I glared at him in shock but then he started laughing. "I love you even more."

"I love you too." I said leaning in for a kiss and guess what? That's when Tony walked in.
