i wake up with a fright. sweat was dripping down my forehead as my hand was over my chest. i squint my eyes feeling a pounding headache as if i was hungover.
i turn to my side checking my phone and see a message from beomgyu, "can i come over? i'm home alone again.🧍"
i chuckled replying to him. i get out of bed and make my way downstairs and see my mom cooking, "morning hye- oh my...you look...a-are you okay?" questioned mom with worry as she made her way towards me.
"i-i don't know...i woke up feeling bad." i sigh while rubbing my chest.
"need any medicine?" questioned mom.
i slowly shake my head, "no i'm fine..probably just need some water."
there was a knock on the door. i quickly jog towards the door and open it revealing a smiley beomgyu which suddenly changed to a worried look.
"you look like shit." said beomgyu.
"thanks for that gyu, didn't even notice." i reply allowing him to come into the house.
"home alone again?" questioned mom as she looked at beomgyu. he nodded with a small smile, "well how about you two sit down, i made breakfast."
beomgyu and i sat next to each other, "hyejin are you seriously okay? you look like you're hungover." said beomgyu as he raised an eyebrow.
"i-i don't know i've been having a couple of rough nights." i say sighing as i chug down a glass of water mom put on the table.
"are..your nightmares coming back?" questioned beomgyu as he took off his beanie revealing his his messy blob of hair.
"mhm," i hum looking down at my food, "i end up forgetting them, but...i mean, i always wake up a mess."
as beomgyu and hyejin ate their breakfast all of the sudden the power went out. the two looked around the house with confusion plastered on their faces. hyejin checked her phone and saw that there was no internet connection.
"that's weird, i wonder what's happening." said mom as she looked out the window, "keep eating kids, i'll go see what's going on."
beomgyu and i nod as we continue eating and talking, "this is so weird, power outages usually don't happen." he said.
"i know, this is something probably major. i mean, usually if they're working with the power they'll let us know days before." i reply.
