>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>That asshole.
That awful excuse for a human being.
That Bitch he ran off with.
And to think she was actually your Maid of Honor.
Steve Harrington and you met in Highschool and got together shortly after him a Nancy broke up. Of course, you were friends with Nancy and the two of them seemed to be talking again around the time that he proposed. A year later you were standing at the alter with no Groom, no Maid of Honor, and no dignity.
As soon as you realized what had happened you ran off in your wedding dress, not caring if it got dirty from dragging on the ground.
You had run until your lungs burned and then you stopped and just started walking. Your tears had stopped but the remnants of them were still on your face as your cheeks were black from the mascara.
Then the rain started.
"Oh, come on!" You shouted at the sky. Normally you would embrace the rain and enjoy it, but this was just a bad time for you.
You shivered and hugged yourself as you kept walking down the road, not knowing or caring where you were going. You sniffed as another tear dropped, being mistaken for rain as it hit the ground along with the hundreds and thousands of other drops.
Suddenly the roar of a familiar engine was heard coming down the road behind you. You weren't sure how you remembered the sound, but it was familiar. Regardless, you continued walking with your head down, and your feet wet. Soon the car passed, and you heard the squealing of tires. Then the car reappeared on your left and slowly rolled next to you.
"L/n?" The voice was also familiar, and you turned to see the familiar smile as well. Billy Hargrove, your former Boyfriend's enemy and your study partner.
You had stopped when you saw his smile and instantly got worried. Billy was a bully. At least that's what Steve always said. You had only ever seen him in the library to study and he didn't seem that bad, but you had also seen him in bad fights so it could have been an act he put on for you.
"Hargrove?" You finally muttered as you continued to lean over and look at him through the rain and his passenger seat window.
"What are you doing in the rain?" He asked with a sympathetic smile. His eyes looked you up and down while he spoke. He took notice of the dress and the mascara running down your cheeks, he debated in his head whether it was from the rain or something else.
"Oh, you know, just taking a walk in the dark, alone, in the freezing rain." You said sarcastically as you kicked the puddle in front of you.
"Fair enough, my bad." Billy said as he threw the car in park and opened his door.
You started freaking out slightly, all you could think about was dying. Here, on the pavement, by the hands of Billy Hargrove. You watched as he popped the trunk and headed to the back of his car.
He grabbed something and you instantly closed your eyes and hugged yourself, praying it would be quick and painless. You could hear him come up behind you and you tensed immensely as you could hear his breathing behind you. Then with a gentle plop, something dry and warm covered your shoulders. Your eyes slowly opened to see Billy now standing in front of you, his hands grasped the collar of the jacket he had placed onto you, and he himself wore a confused stare.
"You, okay?" he questioned as he looked you up and down again. Not at all in a flirtatious way, almost as if he was trying to piece together what happened and possibly fix it.
"Y-yes, thank you." You said as he nodded once and then walked to his passenger seat, placing a towel that he had no doubt grabbed from the trunk and placing it on the leather seat.
"Hope you don't mind; wedding dresses tend to soak up a lot of water." He said as he turned to look at you. Your eyes were wide when he looked at you. Yours flickered from the seat to him and back again. When you made no sudden movements, he sighed and walked towards you. He placed his hand on your lower back and guided you towards the vehicle.
You got in and he helped you bunch up your dress and shove it down by your feet before he himself got into the vehicle.
"Where are we going?" You asked after he had buckled his seat belt and helped you with yours.
"I don't know, find a groom?" He meant it in a joking way, but it just made you angry.
"Stupid, Jackass. I should be on my fucking honeymoon right now!" You said as you huffed and crossed your arms.
"Woah, okay. Let's direct that energy away from the guy who just saved you, yeah?"
"I'm sorry, I shouldn't yell." You said as you rubbed your temple. You sighed before opening up to your possible murderer. "My fiancé bailed on me last minute. Ran off with my Maid of Honor actually." You played with your hands as the car began to move.
"Sorry to hear that, I should've been more careful with my words, didn't mean to make you upset."
"Nah, it's fine, like you said. You saved me." A small smile made its way to Billy's lips as he continued to glance back and forth between you and the road.
"Well, Miss L/n. " You rolled your eyes at the reminder that you weren't a Mrs. "How's about we get some grub. Running around in the rain will work up quite an appetite." You frowned.
"I- I don't have my purse on me-"
"I don't remember asking you if you had your purse on you." He said in an authoritive way that made you breathe a little deeper and hold your legs a little closer.
"T-thank you-"
"Billy." He said as if you had forgotten.
"Billy." You didn't.
And you never will.
