EVER WONDER HOW SOCIETY CAME TO BE THE WAY IT IS? Or was, in this world. Now, you were stranded here in an almost deserted Tokyo without all the hustle and bustle. You would have found it quite peaceful, if it were not for the life or death games that people were forced to do.

You had convinced Chishiya to go in a little stroll with you outside of the Beach after a long session of talking and bothering him. You have great patience, the skill learned from your profession. You always had to deal with stubborn teenagers in the therapy room refusing to even speak. It was no matter for you, for you could easily crack down their walls.

You shamelessly stared at Chishiya's face, observing his features. His sharp, cat-like eyes, sharp jawline, and soft-looking lips. You had a small urge to reach up to his face and touch his lips to see if they were really as soft as you imagined they were. He felt your stare and only kept looking forward, but smirked. You ignored his smirk and kept walking.

Finally reaching your destination, you leaned against the railing of the concrete bridge that ran above a freeway. The sides of the freeway were lined with giant green trees flourishing with life, compared to the empty streets of Tokyo. You let out a satisfied sigh at the sight. This spot has always been your favorite place to relax. You liked being up high, as it made you feel like you can get away from the cruel society we live in.

Chishiya copied what you did and leaned his arms on the railing, taking in the view. "Always had been one of my favorite spots in Tokyo," You muttered to him. He was in a close enough proximity so that you didn't have to speak loudly for him to hear. He let out a low chuckle that sent shivers down your spine. "So you like high places, hm?" His question was more of a conformation.

You only hum in confirmation. Your mind was filled with the thought of the cats you used to take care of back in our world. You used to volunteer at an animal shelter, specifically the cats. You love cats. They're so cute and small and soft and fluffy. You've always been more of a cat person. Sure, dogs are cute, but the way the cat's pupils enlarge into a black pool of stars simply has you gushing over their cuteness.

"Say...Chishiya," A sudden idea popped into your head, "What do you think about me giving you a nickname?" You giggled at the thought. You wanted to give him a cute nickname so you could tease him with it. He looked at you with a deadpan face that screamed 'are you seriously kidding.' "No, I'm not kidding, Chishiya."

"No." He declined. You huffed. "Fine, then how about Shun?" You suggested. "Or Chish? Chitaro?? Taro? Oh! I know! Chishi! That's a pretty good one!" You giggled and smiled in a proud manner. "Chishi...?" He let a disgusted face at the mention of the nickname. "No." His face restored to the same old indifference.

"Oh come on Chishi! I think it's cute." You groaned and poked at his arm. The rest of the time of your walk back, you pestered him until he accepted the name grudgingly. He gave you a glare and noted mentally that he would have to get you back for this. You also mentally noted to be wary of his payback.

Getting back to the beach, Chishiya spoke, "You should get some rest in your room. We have a game tonight." You nodded and replied cheekily, "Alright, if you say so, Chishi~" You laughed as he rolled his eyes at your behavior and glared at you. You put up two hands to signify resignation and walked backwards, turning back around once far away enough and made your way back to your quarters. Chishiya only softly scoffed at your behavior and went of to who knows where.

You rested for rest of the day until night hit. Rising from your precious slumber from the sounds of exited shouts and loud music irritated you to your core. You always hated being disturbed from your sleep suddenly or by loud, annoying sounds. Groaning, you got up in your bed and let your brain reset for a bit.

Finally, you decided to get up and get dressed for the games. You put on a black hoodie and black sweatpants that were warm and comfy inside. You did your hair how you'd usually do it and sighed, mentally preparing yourself to go out into the chaos of the beach.

Stepping out of your room, you made your way to the front, where people were crowding around in a party to see off the people who were going tonight. You picked a number and got number 2. Just great. You saw Chishiya leaning on the pillar behind the crowd and approached him.

"What number did you get, Chishi?" You asked him curiously. He showed you the paper. "Five, huh? Seems like we aren't going to be in the same car this time. Too bad." You sighed disappointedly and slumped.

He gave his signature smirk and got off of the pillar. "Good luck." He said as he passed by you. He walked to the car for number five, while you just smiled and walked to the number two car. You didn't recognize the other people in the car, and they seemed like a bunch of weaklings. You just hoped it wouldn't be a team game.

There were two other girls in the car, one girl seemingly in high school, and a woman in her mid twenties. You thought she was pretty. You hope she doesn't die. The only man was a shy boy in his early twenties who seemed to be a scary cat. He smiled and bowed politely in a high, shaky voice. I didn't say anything back and only gave a blank stare. I got in the car first and waited to go.

Hopefully you won't have to massacre them.
