Betrayal

Chapter 3

Dean is driving two of my friends and myself to the lake camp site. I had already explained the remainder of what I hadn't before about the change. My wolf had been grumpy ever since she wasn't able to have control but I was happy dean survived. His fever had gone a way a couple days ago. He still gets mood swings  but they're getting better since he's learning more control. The reason he's not driving with his friends is because I wanted to keep an eye on him. There's a car trailing behind and it's full of deans friends. You can hear their music over ours since his friend ash is great at hooking up sounds systems an has a kick ass one in his car. We pull onto a secluded road and head all the way to the end that lets out to gorgeous wooded area and the lake peaking through the trees. It's our favorite spot to camp because it's so secluded and it's like no one else knows about it, it seems since no ones ever here when we come and we've stayed for weeks before. You have to have a sharp eye to see the sign on the way up through all the foliage. Both cars come to a stop and everyone starts to pile out "this is gonna be the last and best end of the summer camping trip."  We pop the trunks and grab the tents and all of our gear. We set the tents in a semi circle. There's four tents. Two boy and two girls are split evenly in them.

            I already set up Cassie and I's tent and look over to see Selena and Sabrina struggling with there's and the boys already done as well. Dean and ash go to help them and we put our bathing suites on in the time. We get out and almost everyone is ready to go, Selena and Sabrina where changing in the tent. We all walk to the pier when they're done and we all stand at the end just relaxing in the feeling Of the sun. I wish I could shift but I don't know how my friends would take it. I look at dean from the corner of my eye and I push him into the water with a laugh and he lets out a yell before hitting the water but coming back up breaking the surface with I life "boys a little help!" Ash, Felix and maxim look at each other and Felix runs up to the twins taking them into the water and then ash grabs Cassie jumping her in but Sam and maxim are having a small brawl before he throws her over his shoulder and jumps in with a whoop. They all break the surface and let out laughs. We all start swimming just enjoying ourselves and having the next few hours messing around and relaxing.

           We all are on the way back talking and laughing at anything and everything when we come up to the campsite but what causes us to get quiet and whisper is there was a camp next to ours. Odd there's never been anyone else but us camping here before. What a coincidence. Dean suddenly let a growl and went rigid but I elbowed him and told him to shush and look at our friends but the hairs on my neck stood on end at the scents that came from the camp next to us. I could've sworn I masked our scents. How did he find us? Alex had his back to us talking to someone in a tent out of our view as we walked to our own side. Me and dean kept our eyes glued to them as I grabbed a shirt Cassie offered to me and threw it on. The person Alex was talking to suddenly came into veiw and I started shaking with rage. Emily. The fucking she-wolf he cheated on me with and he had the audacity to bring her here. Yes I never want to be in his life nor him in mine again but he just had to bring her to rub her in my face. Alex then turned around and gave me a smile and took a step towards our group. Dean let out a low growl again and I whipped my head to him but he was too focused on them his jaw clenched. Suddenly growls erupted from all around me and Alex and his pack looked taken aback as did I. Alex stopped in his tracks and I looked at all my friends seeing their eyes glued to the others. I can't believe I never even knew this about my friends but shrug it off. How did I not know? 

         Alex let out a huff and went to say something to me but I let out a snarl and he turned with a groan. I looked to my friends and smiled. Seriously how did I not know and how long? Cassie suddenly spoke up grabbing a stick for hot dogs "so are they enemies? Do we not like them?" I cleared my throat "hate them actually." We all kept our distance but remained facing Alexa pack to make sure they wouldn't try to ambush or try anything sly. I was still part of Alexa pack because I never broke the link. I could feel the pressure in my head as they all tried to push in and talk to me.  My wolf simply huffed and groaned saying it was annoying. I told her I didn't care what she thought and said it was for the good so that he couldn't command us, she stayed silent knowing I was right. I turned to my friends "let's be our own pack, pick up loners or if anything join a pack ourselves". A growl ripped through the air and I glanced in Alex's direction, simply shrugging and turned to Felix as he spoke up. The pressure in my head getting stronger. I simply sighed and we all looked at each other. A silent agreement going on and just as fast the pressure in my head left.

   

        We all smiled at each other now able to communicate without anyone else knowing. Suddenly we all looked to Alex as he stormed towards us. I jumped to my feet as did the others and stepped forward as he got in my face "you can't leave me! I don't care if you hate me but just don't leave me!" I scoffed "how can I stand to be around you with what you did? In reality you left me with your choices. So from here on I'm not your pack and have no obligations to you! So get away from me! Because this-" I pointed to everyone behind me "is my new pack. You're out of territory Alex so you wouldn't dare try anything... or would you." I crossed my arms and everyone cluttered together behind me. His pack doing the same shooting looks between us. Classy took a cautious step forward clearing her throat "and we'd gladly lay down our lives for our pack." He simply looked around and laughed "you guys can't be your own pack. You need an alpha... you'll become lost." "We may not have an alpha but we know what we want and as long as we keep that in mind and the wolves in check we'll be fine. I'm sure there's others who don't have alphas and aren't lost. So get lost Alex" I finished with a growl. He grabbed my upper arms "I don't care about any of that. Just stay with me. I'll give you anything!" I shoved him with a snarl "I don't care about you anymore! So as your mate I officially reject you as my mate!" It suddenly felt like my heart was being ripped at of my chest just as Alex had the same look and I grabbed my chest keeping a straight face; fighting through the pain as it slowly subsided to a slight throbbing. He grabbed his chest and reached for me "please... I'm sorry" he looked. Pitiful. It almost made me go back to him but I held my ground.

         "I don't care anymore. I don't ever wanna see you or her again" Emily let out a growl. And I snapped my head towards her "don't growl at me you home-wrecking bitch" she tried coming at my but selena and Sabrina cut her off stepping in front of her with fierce looks "try us." "I suggest you call off your dog Alex before someone gets hurt" "call off your own dogs!"I looked at them and nodded. They stepped back throwing a last look at Emily as she stayed where she was. He gave me a last look before grabbing Emily and walking back to their part of the site. "We'll see you at school" it looked like dean was gonna day something smart but I just gave him a 'shut up' look. We all walked back to the fire and sat "thanks guys. I can't tell you how much I love that it's you instead of other people."

    After just staring at the fire and talking to each other in the link I stood up grabbing a jacket "I'm going for a walk I need to clear my head." "But dinners almost ready sam" I nodded "I'll be quick... just a couple minutes." I walked into the surrounding woods staring down deep in thought when I suddenly heard commotion in front of me and a small animal let out a shriek. I looked up just as a white wolf raised its head a large rabbit in its maw. It looked underfed like it didn't eat much and we simply stared at each other. Almost too afraid to move that the other one would charge or be gone. It was clearly a male and my brown eyes clashed with its gold. Just as I went to say anything. Something at least but my name got called and I turned towards the sounds looking back but the wolf was gone. As if it hadn't been there.
