Third person's PovThe living room of Chaewon's home was filled with strewn-about notebooks, open books, and shouting. The only two who'd been standing and arguing were she and the other person, and despite Sakura's intervention to stop them, it doesn't work.
The other girl was sprawled out on the couch, looking blankly at the minor commotion in front of her.
"If you have a problem with me, can you separate that from what we're doing now? Are you really that unprofessional?"Chaewon disagreed, saying, "Hey, for your reference, you're not that important enough for me to have a problem with; you are the one voicing a viewpoint that makes no sense!"
"Oh come on, just say you can't admit that my concepts are superior to your worthless opinion!"
Before they can take the exam, they must complete a project, which was one of those requirements.
As a result of their instructor grouping them together because they all belong to the same section, it will be difficult for them to address issues with one another.
Sakura soothed them, "Oh, please, can't you both stop this already? We were unable to finish this."
Chaeyeon held one of the books and said, "Certainly, we haven't even begun yet."
Minju frowned and pointed at the elder girl next to her who was glaring at her harder. "How can we start if this one here has done nothing but contempt all of those suggestions that may enable us to begin this," she said.
"Oh, is it now inappropriate to express an opinion? Your thoughts were already overused."
"You—"
Sakura stepped in when she noticed that Minju was going to respond once more, saying, "Hep! that's enough; for heavens' sake, cut it out. We're wasting our time listening to your childish squabbles; can't you two stand each other at least for this project that will benefit both of you in the end?"
The two became silent and annoyedly clicked their tongues before returning to their seats.
Feeling somewhat comforted by what the two accomplished, the Japanese girl sat down next to Chaeyeon, who had been silent and appeared to be in her own world.
"Listen, let's think of another lot of ideas again, and hopefully there won't be any fights; please respect each other. We also need teamwork and openness from each other if we actually want this project to work and be done quickly."
They all return to the outset and finally have a productive brainstorming session to determine what they would do for the project.
The others were getting ready to leave for home after they spent more than five hours settling things.
"Hey, take Sakura unnie home." Chaewon commanded her cousin, who scowled at her, "It's late; she shouldn't walk home alone herself."
"Geez Chaewon, I can handle myself; Chaeyeon doesn't need to accompany me home, and I suppose she has somewhere else to be,"
"But unnie—"
"Why don't you escort her home yourself?" Her cousin said indifferently and walked out of the gate.
The three were left standing in front of Chaewon's door, watching the girl walk away.
"What in the world is her problem?"
Minju cautiously addressed the oldest one, "Haven't you guys talked about it again, unnie?"
"Yeah, it's my fault anyway that she's mad at me."
Chaewon asked in surprise, "W-wait, you're the one she courted and got rejected?" Sakura smiled sourly in response.
"Wait, you are also aware of their past?"
"Isn't it obvious? but then I had no idea that it was you, unnie."
Chaewon's eyebrows grazed as Minju wrapped her arm around the Japanese girl's shoulder.
She comforted Sakura, who looked a little lost, saying, "She's not mad with you, for sure."
"What do you mean?"
Chaewon asked coldly, "Do you still need to wrap your arm around her while telling her that?"
'What the hell is her problem with me yet again? What does it matter if I cling on to Sakura unnie, a good friend of mine?' Minju had a thought.
"Why do you care anyway? Let's get back to you, Kkura unnie; trust me, my best friend doesn't hold a grudge against you."
When the younger girl used the word "bestfriend," Chaewon's ears perked up. For some reason, she felt relieved by this.
"Bestfriend? I thought you two were dating,"
Sakura noted Chaewon's somewhat changed behaviour toward Minju and a smile spread across her lips.
She swiftly departed before even Chaewon could stop her, saying, "I'll go ahead; it appears like you guys have something to talk about."
When she turned to gaze at Minju's side, she discovered the younger girl gazing intently at her.
Chaewon did experience a little heart attack, so she swiftly turned her head away and scowled.
"What are you looking at? Aren't you going home yet?"
Minju approached her and held her face in her way rather than responding. The space between their faces caused Chaewon's breathing to waver.
"W-what nonsense are you doing ag—"
She drew her face even closer to Chaewon, "Can you be honest? I've been noticing your actions for a long time now."
'Just what in the world is she doing right now? I think I might need some air.'
