Alright, since this is an AU where LMK and Ninjago are combined, you bet your ass that Elemental Powers are gonna have a different lore than Ninjago.
Destiny, Death or Choice
Elemental Powers can be passed down unto one generation or the other. Usually through Hereditary means, Fate or Choice by the Previous Elemental Master. With this and the power of the gods of the Celestial Realm because FSM needed help with smth it was categorized into 3 typesDestiny
Fate chooses the next successor of the Elemental Powers...like what most believe. This is when the Elemental Master has no time to choose a successor and doesn't have a direct descendant, so it chooses the fate of the next person who gains the powers, One example is Nyad, who had control over the water before a portion of that power was given to the Masters of Water. This also occurs when a descendant is born and the previous holders had could never decide to give which of them their powers, yes they can choose their child to not have their powers, but if they WERE going to, but simply couldn't decide between the two of them and both of them are elemental masters fate decides for them. If the child only has one parent that is a descendant of the Master, then easily simple if the parent decides to pass it on it will always go to the child. However if another power is given to the child or descendant that is not of lineage to the Previous Elemental Masters, then the Elemental Master has to wait and choose someone else, or die and let fate decide for them.Exp:
The Elemental Master has no successor or descendant, thus Destiny chooses for them and some random person who fits the Master's criteria is dubbed the next Elemental Master of whatever element. This can happen via death.Exp 2:
Two Elemental Masters want to give their child their power but can't decide on which power the child should take and leave it up to fate, child gains one parent's powers and the other parent either has to find a successor or make another child.Exp 3:
Two Elemental Masters have two or More Children and decide to give them their powers, but can't decide amongst them and leave it up to fate. Fate chooses which child should gain which power, and if there's more than two, which one stays powerless and which two gains power (Sorta like an Aang family type situation there...I seriously think Aang was a good character, just not the best father)Exp 4:
Two Elemental Masters have a child and child gains one of the parents' powers via fate or choice. But, The Other Parent has a relative, so Other Parent has a choice between Fate or Choice usually with fate it will choose another relative of the Elemental Master if said relative is without Elemental Powers, Same goes if the Elemental Master has no descendants, then it will choose a relativeNote: When Destiny is chosen, Destiny can only decide that the child gains one power, overtime the power starts to fade from the Previous Master making the child the current Master
If Destiny is chosen, and the EM has no descendants, it will either choose a distant descendant that fits the criteria or choose someone who fits the criteria.
Destiny will always choose relatives first or relatives that were unheard of, before finding a capable Master.
Death
This is the unlucky choice, because it correlates to destiny, however this is slightly different. When an Elemental Master dies, almost immediately destiny will choose if the EM didn't have a successor. However Death's type is the criteria of if an Elemental Master dies, and has a successor.
If a Master dies and has a successor, almost immediately the successor will gain the power regardless of age or destiny. It will always pass on to the successor regardless, whether the successor is related to the Master or not is irrelevant, it will always pass on to the chosen successor.
Exp:
If a Master gets a child and the Master inevitably dies, child will immediately get the powerExp 2:
If Two Parents who are Masters dies and have a child, child immediately inherits both Masters abilities.Exp 3:
If two parents who are Masters and one of them gets killed and they have a child, the parent who died will immediately pass on the power to that child, same goes for multiple children, it just immediately chooses the criteria.Exp 4:
If the Master has a successor and has been training said successor for a while and Master dies, Successor will automatically gain Elemental Powers.Note: The Death choice, does not care about which Master should take first, the Death Choice is usually when the death is abrupt to the point that the Master could not even leave it to fate or choice, The Death Choice is a defense Mechanism in order to preserve the life-span of the Elemental Powers as such Death will immediately decide who should get the power with haste before the power dies out.
Unlike Destiny who chooses only one, since death is when Masters gain an abrupt end and had no time to leave it to fate or choice, Death will let one person gain two, this only works if the person is the child of two masters who have passed. Death will only choose one element and leave it to Destiny if the Master has no relatives or successor.
Death can also alert when a family member has been killed, if a Master has a distant relative or a relative in general and the Master dies, the relative will immediately gain the power once they fit the criteria.
Choice
This type is self-explanatory and has multiple examples being a-crossed, such as Zane. Choice is the type where an element master can choose to give their power away to their descendant or successor, and this is an almost immediate reaction. There's no need to further explain this since this is such an easy concept.Age
Now that we have gotten the choice outta the way, it's time to get the lore on how Masters don't age. Now, once a Master gains their ability of the Element they receive, they will grow and age normally and immediately stop during a certain time usually in their 20-30s unless the Elemental Master passes down their power, they cannot age at all, once the Master passes down the power to their successor, they will start aging in a normal rate. That's all I got for the lore now...
