Both groups were on a boat tracking the signal from the device.
Bentley:Okay, the signal is coming from that way.
Murray was steering the ship in the right direction. Meanwhile on the deck, the group was discussing as to what to do.
Tarantula:Okay, I think it's a safe bet that this island has some defenses.
Dimitri:I could scope it out.
Tarantula:Good.
Hyena:I got some sticky bombs? Could that help?
Guru:We need all the equipment we can carry.
Meanwhile, Sly and Carmelita were sitting on opposites of the boat. Both were still processing all that happened over the last few days. Wolf and Diane both took notice.
Diane:Thinking what I'm thinking?
Wolf:Absolutely.
Wolf went to Sly, and Diane went to Carmelita.
Wolf:Hey man.
Sly didn't respond.
Wolf:I know man. You got heavy stuff on your mind.
Sly:I just...if I knew he was on the way and that this would all happen...I never would have taken advantage of Carmelita like that. I'm a horrible person, and a pretty lousy father.
Wolf:I know you wouldn't have.
Sly:You...really think so?
Wolf:100%
Sly:I just really want to make sure he's alright. And if we do make it out of this whole mess, things will be different.
Meanwhile Diane was speaking with Carmelita.
Carmelita:I just wanted him to have a normal life. That he'd grew up safe. I knew he was going to find out eventually, but not like this.
Diane:Truth always comes out in the worst of ways.
Carmelita:He must hate me for keeping this from him.
Diane:I know he doesn't. And I'm sure you know it too. He probably understands that you didn't mean for all this to happen. That night, he was just angry. Lots of kids do that.
Both Sly and Carmelita were glad to be reassured by Wolf and Diane. However, there was still one person Sly and Carmelita needed to talk to:each other. They got up from their respective spots and met up at the side, with Carmelita hugging herself.
Sly:I gave what you yelled at me earlier some thought. And...you were right. I never should have lied about my amnesia. I should have stuck around instead of continuing my little thief career. I can only imagine what you went through all this time. Carm...I am so sorry.
Carmelita:It's...not entirely your fault. I was the one who kicked you out. I was just so angry and... scared.
She clenched her fist against her chest.
Sly:Frankly, after the stunt I pulled, you had every right to do.
Carmelita:After you left, I was given the news that I was pregnant. I was so excited to finally settle down. But...I never knew what the impact everything would have the following weeks. I was going to be a mother. I was lucky enough to have my parent support, but all the trips back and forth between their home and mine wasn't enough. I knew that deep down...I needed you. I missed you...but I still hated you.
She was trembling.
Sly:Do you still?
Carmelita hesitated.
