School

Andi walked into the cafeteria with her tray, while she talked with Moon about gossip.

They passed three boys sitting at a table, one of which she didn't recognise.

Andi knew at least everyone in the school, obviously not personally, yet she had never seen this kid.

The two boys with him were on her radar as her friends always seemed to make fun of them, but they had never offended her.

"Go on without me." She whispered to Moon.

Once her friend left Andi sat next to the boy.

"So, are you new or do you just have a really forgetful face?" Andi asked him, both the other boys were in shock at the sight.

The Andi Monáe was sitting at their table! Eli thought he was dreaming.

"Oh, umm, no. I'm new." Miguel answered with a smile.

"Cool." Andi began to eat her food as Demetri slides over to Miguel's side.

"Dude, that's one of the popular girls!" He whispers to the oblivious boy.

"Then why is she sitting with us." He asks.

"Because of you, duh, she's never even been close to us, let alone talk." Demetri replies quietly.

"I'm Andi, by the way. And I can hear everything your saying. It's the benefit of a hangover." The girl says to the three.

"Oh, I'm Miguel, this is Demetri and Eli." The boy responds politely.

"I know. I'm sitting here because one of my friends told me that I should go on a diet while I was driving her to school, then I kicked her out of my car and drove off. So she's ignoring me now." Andi explains.

"That was rude of her, your body's perfect. I-I mean, uhh, never mind." Miguel says.

"Thanks?" Andi questions. "Well, bye now." She waved, now seeing other people she knew enter the lunchroom.

"That was weird..." Demetri said awkwardly.

"No. That was the beginning." Miguel says.
