**JULY**

Today is Sunday, July 12th. We have been in Texas for a little over a month. Alex has made some new friends do to the fact that he got a job a week after we moved. He hasn't brought them around much so I don't know what they are like. They have only been to the house twice, once when I was at the store and another time when I was outside tanning. Our back yard is huge. We have a nice in ground pool with a diving board so I can practice my dives. My mom got us a new trampoline when we moved also. I decided I wanted to start a garden, so we have tomatoes, cucumbers, green peppers, red peppers, and jalapeños growing in the back. We also have a patch of land with little trees in the very far back. That's were I have spent most of my summer reading, writing, and taking pictures. I like to have time to myself in silence. I love this space because I feel like I can become one with nature; it's all so peaceful.
"Gemma!! Are you ready yet!?" My mom shouts up the stairs to my room. We live in a five bedroom house, two bedrooms in the basement which is where Alex and Robert sleep. Two on the main floor, my mom and dads room and a guest room, which I don't quiet understand why we have, and then there is my room, upstairs in the loft. It's huge, and has a big walk in closet. I love it.
"Yeah mom! I will be down in a second!" I respond straightening out my turquoise blouse and tugging at my white shorts. About two weeks ago my our neighbors Mr and Mrs Windchesters, a little old couple who lives next door somehow convinced my mom to start going to church. It's a nice little church, but I feel like an outsider. The first time we went I felt so awkward. Everyone was staring at us, wondering who we were. They thought we were relatives of the Windchesters.
As I walked into the kitchen to get coffee my dad eyed me suspiciously, "What?" I asked a little annoyed.
"Don't you think those shorts are a little too short for church?"
"How did I know you where going to have a problem with my clothes?" I asked irritated.
"Because you know that they are inappropriate, that's how. Go change."
"Honey she is fine, what is wrong with that?" My mom says intruding. She doesn't care what I'm wearing as long as it's not too reveling. That's what i have always liked about her, she has always been reasonable and calms my dad whenever he starts to get on my back.
"....but, why, young lady, are to drinking coffee? You know how I feel about that." My mom narrows her eyes at me.
"Mom, I'm 5'2 without coffee, and I am done growing. I have teeth whitener so you don't have to worry about my teeth staining. I'm all good"
"Honey, she's fine" my dad says mocking her from before. "And plus we have to go or we are going to be late."
"Yeah I don't think I wanna go today, can I please stay home?" Pleading to my parents as I mix my creamer into my coffee.
"Absolutely not. Mrs. Windchester has some kids she wants you to meet. Plus I think she said her nephew is back from Ohio, you haven't met anyone yet. Don't you want to know some people when school starts up in the fall? All you do all day everyday is sit out in the backyard and do whatever it is out there." My mom complains. She is more of the social type of person, Alex takes after her. I take after my dad, the quiet one.
"Leave her alone, she likes what she does. And if she doesn't want to make friends then she doesn't have to, but you do have to come to church, so let's go." All five of us file into my moms blue Equinox and head to church. After about 15 minutes we are there. We walk in and my eyes automatically land on a new face. We made eye contact and I felt my face heat up, me heart start to race, and my breath hitch in my throat.
He must be Mrs. Windchesters nephew.
