stiles thought it would be fine- even though he was no longer in the pack and that REALLY sucked he really did think they could still all be friends, at least acquaintances but boy was he wrong.

as he sped towards his next class he passed a group of them. they didn't even bat an eye. in fact- since he was kicked out they had completely blocked out his existence. it was eating him up inside. the longer he spent in this shitty town the more suffocating it became. it hurt, he wasn't going to lie it hurt like a knife to the chest, the people who he had spent years with, saving, helping and comforting only for them to turn their backs to him like he was nothing... like he was no one to them.

so stiles made his mind up- he would pass all his exams early, having got permission off the principal. then he was moving to chicago- far away from this town. he had sat his dad down the night before and after much convincing his father finally agreed.  although he did think he was leaving at the end of this year. stiles was supposed to take his final exams at the end however after suffering through the last few weeks he'd shortened the time. he'd done all of them that day.

he caught the eyes of scott as he passed him, scott turned away instantly. if he had done that two months ago stiles would have almost cried. now he was left unsurprised.

stiles hurried to a seperate room for his final exam. he knew he would pass and be fine. the only reason he hadn't yet was because of the pack. he wanted to spend his final year with all of them. that was gone now though. he would leave the next morning.

after school. stiles flopped onto his bed but he knew he couldn't lie down- the likelihood of him falling asleep was close to nothing, not with everything going on at the moment. instead he just glared angrily at his bedroom ceiling as if it had been the one to ignore him for months. after an hour he heard the front door open.

"stiles? you back?"

he sighed inwardly.
"yeah dad. i'm here- hey can i talk to you?"

his dad walked in, a small frown on his face of concern.

"sure son. what's up"
stiles swallowed thickly.

"i'm... leaving tomorrow morning- chicago... my mind is already made up. i finished my exams and i have no reason to stay aside from you. think you can hold down the fort?"
he asked- voice only slightly breaking.

his dads eyes held sorrow but he smiled and pulled stiles into a hug.

"alright then. let me make us some dinner. moms old favourite"
stiles sniffled lightly and nodded against his shoulders.

the evening crawled by slowly, him and his dad being a bit lost on what to say to one another. soon enough it was night. stiles fell into an uneasy sleep, all the thoughts running wild in his head.

when he awoke he packed everything into his jeep and against his better judgement. he called scott.

"hello?"

his voice echoed down the line.

"hey scott. uh- just wanted to say bye i guess? i'm leaving for chicago now and uh, yeah i'll be gone for quite a while..."

"okay...?"

stiles blinked. thought whag did he expect? a tearful goodbye?

"i just-"

"look stiles."

scott interrupted. having the audacity to sound irritated.

"i have a lot to do today with the pack and training. it's not-"

stiles hung up. he shoved his phone into his pocket and ripped open the car door. he gave a sad hug to his father witb the promise to visit soon then tore off to chicago. wanting a better life outside of his.
