Anniversary Party

"You two are cringe." Velvet laughed. You lay in Vox's lap while he played with your hair.

"Fuck off" you stuck your middle finger up at her. She rolled her eyes. "Weren't you the one who recorded us in the limo." You said "Obviously" She smiled "then shut the fuck up." You replied.

Your phone began to ring,

"I swear Lucifor– Hellllooo" you answered "Hello my beloved sister." He said, "What do you want." You said "Nothing..." He said, "Okay then I'll just hang up–"

"WAIT, wait, wait,"

"Hm?" You hummed looking at Vox with a face of mild annoyance, he just shrugged.

"Would you be willing to come to Mine and Lilith's anniversary party?" He asked.
"Do I have to?" You asked "Yes," He replied monotone.

"Ugh, Fine, Who all is invited, Where is it, when is it and will there be food?" You asked.

"Great! You, your friends, and Charlotte along with her hotel crew and a few other overlords and demons, the palace, 10 pm, and yes, there will be food." He replied quickly. "Sounds good to me, I'll talk to the 'crew', See ya," You said "Goodbye sister" Luci bid Farwell just before hanging up.

"So, apparently we're invited to my brother's anniversary party, who knows how many years those two have been married so don't ask, and yes I have to go." You summed up what the conversation was.

"Okay." Velvet said, "When is it?" Vox said "2 days, 10 'o clock" You replied "Sounds fine." Vox replied.

However, Valentino groaned in annoyance "You don't have to go." You said, "It's your damn brother, he'll probably double-dead me if I don't go." Valentino replied.

"Eh,"

"Hey Velvet," you grinned at her "Smell this," you threw a penny at her "Ay! What the heck?" She said

You shrugged. Vox ran his fingers through your hair. "You're cute." You smiled warmly at him. He just scoffed at you with an eye roll.

"I look like shit." You said.

"You look fine," Vox said adjusting his bow tie. "You're kind of obligated to think I look fine." You said.

"But I'm not obligated to say you look fine." He replied, "Do I not?" You asked.

"As I said, You look great." He replied, "Fine, but if I look like shit and everybody thinks so, it's your fault." You said.

"Deal." He said.

"VELVET, VAL, Let's go!" You shouted.

When the four of you, after a long 20 minutes drive all got out of the limo and stood alongside Charlie and her group.

This time Valentino appeared to notice Angel who looked, as Charlie described, Very much not Okay.

You two made eye contact, you gave him a look that he returned with one that said 'I'm fine.'

You wanted to pry, but you didn't.

I swear, she's gonna figure it out eventually

Damnit you read his mind.

"Hello, My Daughter and Beloved sister," Lucifor said.

I swear Lilith always makes me invite Charlotte. Lucifor though.

Damnit why were you reading their minds, usually you had more power over this kind of thing.

Vox looked at you, your distressed expression was prominent.

Is she okay? He thought

"What the fuck?" You muttered following Luci as he lead the entire group to the same place you'd been at the first brunch meeting.

When Lucifor said a few other overlords and demons he must've been joking, it looked like the ball all over again

Oh no, I can't believe we decided to come...
Charlie thought gripping Vaggie's hand.

"Vox, I don't know what's happening..." You looked at him "What? Are you okay?" He asked "I don't know, I can hear everybody's thoughts and I'm panicking" You frowned.

"Oh, Uh, maybe talk to your brother?" He said, "That'd be a good idea if one, he weren't talking to Mr. Radio star over there and two if he could hear people's thoughts." You said.

"Well shit," Vox said, "Okay, I'd say, you're probably just stressed out, I'm sure it's nothing bad." He comforted.

"But–"
"Shh,"
"I–"

"Shh," He put a finger to your lips. You sighed "Fine"

"Good, Now, Let's find something to do before your introverted brain combusts." He said.

"Wow how nice." You replied.

"Well, you have two options, one die of introverted Ness or get wasted and make a dumb speech about your brother and his wife," Vox said.

"Can I pick one?"

"Nope" Velvet popped up behind you handing you a bottle of Booze.

"Fine."

Not even 2 hours later you were stumbling around and talking about dumb shit, Vox had opted out of getting absolutely trashed because he wasn't going to let you do something you'd completely regret.

You threw a wine glass on the ground gaining the attention of everybody "I wanna say something!" You shouted. You walked towards a tall stage-like ledge thing.

Lucifor handed you a microphone "Thanks bubs" you replied patting the brim of his hat.

He scowled and walked away standing next to Lilith.

"So, I wanna say, Obviously I've known Luci there my entire life,"

"And ever since I was a kid." You started tearing up, In reality, it wasn't that emotional.

"He always said 'You're stuck with me' and now that we're all grown up and he has a family of his own, he still really kept that promise, and they look so happy right now, Even Charlie who we know was mildly outcasted from the family, is still part of the family." You ranted.

"And, I hope I can be even a morsel of as happy as Lucifor and Lilith are now, Vox, come here please." You beamed, he glanced around at Demon who where staring at him currently.

He hesitantly walked up and stood next to you. "And I know who makes me as happy as they are," you smiled at Vox lovingly.

Velvet was practically pissing herself now, as she hugged Valentino who looked annoyed as Hell "They are so fucking precious." She smiled.

"I love you, Vox"
