Those icy blue eyes cut into me and I stare up at him silhouetted against the almost dark sky. He smiles a little and I smile back, his hands still warm on my neck.
"Sorry, I've wanted to do that all night," his voice snaps through the quiet.
"Don't apologise," I smile back. "To be truthful, I wanted you to."
We just stand there, smiling at each other, searching each others eyes in blissful quiet until my phone buzzes. And it's Kat.
"We, um, we should probably get back, dinner has already been served." My voice is quiet and nervous, and I look at the ground.
"Yeah, probably," he seems just as nervous as I do so I don't mind, but he takes my hand and we start to walk back towards home.
We walk the entire way home in silence to find when we get back dinner has already been cleared, but Kat and Ally saved a plate for each of us.
I sit down at the end of the table and Kat sits on one side, and Nathan on the other. Ally's still in the kitchen heating up our food, but then she brings it in with cutlery and sits down on Kat's other side.
I dig into the chicken and pasta dish, silence remaining over the table. Well, until about half way through my meal.
"So, are you two dating?" Ally's cheerful voice pipes up and shatters the silence.
"Ally!" Kat exclaims and apology covers her features. Nathan and I simply stare at the table and he lets out a low chuckle.
"Sorry, I had to ask," she mumbles and stares at the table, but I know she doesn't regret it.
We sit there, no answer passing over the table. When Nathan finishes his food, he stands.
"Well, it was nice you Liv. And you two as well," he smiles politely at us and meets my eye. I can tell he's trying to contain his laughter. And I am too. "I'll see you guys in English tomorrow."
"Yeah, bye," Kat I the only one who speaks as he walks into the kitchen and quickly washes his plate, before heading to his room.
I put my fork down on my empty plate. "Ally, I cannot believe you just asked that."
"Really? Because I can," Kat rolls her eyes and laughs softly.
"Sorry Liv. But I just. Ugh. You're so cute together and I needed to know!" She smiles apologetically, throwing her straightened blonde hair over her shoulder. "I'll even wash your plate to show how sorry I am."
Before I can object, she grabs my plate and takes it into the kitchen. "Thanks, Ally, but you didn't have to."
"Don't mention it!" Her voice calls out from the kitchen. "Oh, before you go, we have a meeting tomorrow just so you guys know."
