Elijah's POV

__________________________________________________________________

I woke up to cars honking at one another. I slept in the van because the party the seniors were having were blocking my way to leave. I checked my phone for the time. It was 6:38 a.m. I saw to sign of anyone so I rushed over to the back of the park and climbed the vines. I headed over to the opposite side of the woods that lead to MY kingdom and dug away all the leaves and dirt covering the door so no one else will see it.

I rushed over to the biggest house in the kingdom. I kicked opened to door and found nobody inside. I looked around for someone.

"Excuse me, miss, have you seen Ella?" Elijah asked.

"Ella? My king haven't you heard? Ella passed away six months ago to influenza." the lady replied.

"What?" asked Elijah who looked like he was about to cry.

"Ask Mrs. Robinson, she took care of her while you were away on your journey, my king," the lady replied once more.

"Thank you," said Elijah.

Elijah thought she was lying. She must be lying. Ella can survive through anything. ANYTHING. She was strong and held on to whatever she can. That's what Elijah loved about her. And how could she know who Ella is. She lived in secret so no one would know she and Elijah were together or people would think Elijah was too foolish to be the king of Monti. So how would she know who she is. Is it because of her death that brought attention. No, it couldn't be because the kingdom was humongous so one little death wouldn't affect a enormous kingdom. Especially one who no one knows. So how will the lady know about her?

Elijah had to make a tough decision. He could follow the stange lady who knew about Ella's death or go to Mrs. Robinson house which is exactly what lady wants Elijah to do. But Elijah couldn't resist. He couldn't help it. He loved Ella and wanted to know the truth about her death. If she even died.

He walked about two miles in sadness to Mrs. Robinson's cabin. Mrs. Robinson's cabin is VERY tiny. Last time he was here was when his mother was dying of poison and passed away three day later. From the last time he remebered, the cabin could only could fit a small twin sized bed, a tiny fireplace made out of cobblestone, and three small cabinets filled with medicine for her patients. He knocked on her cabin door and a young woman answered it. She looked familiar to Elijah. She is Laura, Ella's best friend who helped her with everything and anything she needed.

"Is Ella here?" Elijah asked worriedly.

"Elijah?" asked Laura.

"Tell me she's here," Elijah said panicking.

"I don't know how to say this but... you missed so much," Laura replied.

"What? I don't understand. She's alive right?" asked Elijah.

Laura shook her head looking like she was about to cry her eyes out.
