(Matteo POV)
My entire body felt numb. There wasn't anything for hours. However, as I slowly regained consciousness, I could feel a bright light shining on my face. There was also something soft underneath me.
It felt like...grass? Was I outside? Eventually after a few moments of lying down, I decided to open my eyes to see where I was. Squinting at the bright light of the sun I was met with a sky of clouds, with only a few plants reaching my peripheral vision. Staring at the sky for a bit, I noticed something...odd about the shape of the clouds.
It was like they had been curving towards the direction of the sun. After noticing that I quickly sat up to see where I was.
Looks like some sort of Romanesque style garden. The hedges were also seem to follow a circular path as well. So, is the sky really just part of some sort of panoramic dome? First of all... that's pretty cool, but more importantly...where am I exactly if it's not outside.
...
Hang on are those...
As I looked around, I realized there were several people lying around me. Then I recalled the incident that occurred aboard the train.
That's right! There were others on that train that has been knocked out by some sort of sleeping gas. There were 17 of us in total, if I remember correctly. This doesn't seem to be everyone though.
"Hnngh..."
"Wha?" I muttered, as I noticed that one of the others had started to wake up. One of them I remember vividly being a...pirate?
"Hrrghh..." the pirate had groaned as he slowly stood up, taking in his surroundings before his eyes had met with mine.
"Ah! You there!" He he called out to me. "Looks like you're up and about. You alright, friend?"
"Uh...well my appendages are all intact and I don't have any brain damage, so as far as that goes...I'm doing good," I responded.
I looked past him and saw another guy lying nearby. "Looks like that guy could use some work though," I pointed out.
He briefly turned around.
"Hah?"
Taking a moment to observe the guy that was unconscious, he eased up a bit once he saw his chest rising and falling.
"Thank god, it appears they've only yet to wake up."
He tried shaking the guy to wake him up, and stopped once he had the confirmation of him groaning.
"Mmmngh...huh?" the guy with a shark tooth earring mumbled.
"Looks like he's awake," the pirate said in response. "It'd be a good idea to wake the others." he told me.
"Gotcha."
I had then turned to a couple of people who were close by on the ground. One was a boy in a brown suit with a book also next to his body. The other was...
Hey, wait a moment...that's...
As I got a better look, I recognized the girl lying on the ground as the same one who sat next to me on the train.
Her name is...Toshiko Kayura. She's the Ultimate Matchmaker.
"Hey, Toshiko, can you hear me?" I whispered into her ear. This granted me the reaction of her eyelids starting to flicker open, though just barely before closing again. I repeated the question once more.
"Hey! Toshiko, can you hear me? Wake up!"
I was unprepared for her reaction.
Instantly her eyes shot open and she smacked me in the face with a paper fan she was holding. "Agh!" I exclaimed.
