(Matteo POV)
There's a saying that big things come in small packages, and yet in the times we live in, humanity is so ignorant to the idea. They've limited thinking to what's possible in the present day, but not what could be possible in the near future. However, the individuals who can look past what lies beyond the now, are the ones who can change the future.
If anything, I'm the very embodiment of those beliefs.
Among those individuals who choose to innovate change in how we live our lives, there are special people known as Ultimates. These people are examples of the guiding light to change in humanity's society.
Titles for Ultimates are given to exceptional high school and college students. People like doctors who are capable of treating the supposedly untreatable, or engineers who invent new creations that revolutionize how we do things. I myself am an engineer of sorts, as well as an Ultimate.
My name is Matteo Sparke. I am known as the Ultimate Robotics Engineer.
It's amazing, isn't it? Though, when it comes to what I do, I don't really need an Ultimate title. Ever since I was young, I have always been a genius, and I've only continued to establish that up to today. Heck, even before I had this title, I was already known for my talents by the people who work for me. Of course, there'll always be naysayers who don't believe I have what it takes, but I don't let that stuff bother me. To be honest, I'm used to it given the fact that...
...I'm basically a kid.
It may be shocking for people to know; a 13-year-old college student, who also runs a tech company. However, I take pride in my youth, since it only further demonstrates my exceptionality. People like my secretary, whom I've known for some years, have always been there to support me. And, it would seem my title has caught the interest of a certain school as well.
One afternoon, I found a red envelope in my postbox. Curious, I opened it and examined the contents of the letter.
"To Mr. Matteo Sparke, the Ultimate Robotics Engineer:
Congratulations! For your contributions as an Ultimate, we cordially invite you to attend Eden's Garden Academy, a specialized college for academic-based talents. At our unique academy, you will not only develop a tighter grasp on your respective skill set, but you and other Ultimate students who received this invitation will gain an ever-important proficiency at leadership, communication, and persuasion. In an age where anyone can be called Ultimate, we hope you will join us and assume your rightful place as the true face of talent. Please keep the contents of this invitation, as well as the attached registration material, strictly confidential. The integrity of our program is built on the foundation of privacy."
Heh. The true face of talent, huh?
Eden's Garden Academy was founded in collaboration with the Ultimate Talent Program, or UTP, which was the government institution responsible for distributing the titles of Ultimate students. There are many different schools associated with the UTP, which scout out Ultimate students from across the globe.
Personally, I don't really feel like an Ultimate title is necessary to be an influential asset to society, but according to what I've been told, Eden's Garden Academy claims to uphold a reputation of perfection among the students the school enrolls. So, I figured, while I'm there, I might as well see who the newest students are and see what they could offer for the future.
After I had informed my secretary about where I would be going, I had gotten packed and had her drop me off by the train station where I waited patiently for it to arrive.
