Prologue: Enter the Ultimate Robotic Engineer

(Matteo POV)

There's a saying that big things come in small packages, and yet in the times we live in, humanity is so ignorant to the idea. They've limited thinking to what's possible in the present day, but not what could be possible in the near future. However, the individuals who can look past what lies beyond the now, are the ones who can change the future.

If anything, I'm the very embodiment of those beliefs.

Among those individuals who choose to innovate change in how we live our lives, there are special people known as Ultimates. These people are examples of the guiding light to change in humanity's society.

Titles for Ultimates are given to exceptional high school and college students. People like doctors who are capable of treating the supposedly untreatable, or engineers who invent new creations that revolutionize how we do things. I myself am an engineer of sorts, as well as an Ultimate.

My name is Matteo Sparke . I am known as the Ultimate Robotics Engineer.

It's amazing, isn't it? Though, when it comes to what I do, I don't really need an Ultimate title. Ever since I was young, I have always been a genius, and I've only continued to establish that up to today. Heck, even before I had this title, I was already known for my talents by the people who work for me. Of course, there'll always be naysayers who don't believe I have what it takes, but I don't let that stuff bother me. To be honest, I'm used to it given the fact that...

...I'm basically a kid.

It may be a little shocking for people to believe all at once; a 13-year-old who's not only a college student, but also someone who runs a tech company. However, I take pride in my youth, since it only further demonstrates my exceptionality.

Currently, I'm the CEO of Smiling AI Laboratories and Technology, LLC. Not only that, but I'm also the company's Innovations Director for the Robotics Division. Almost everyone in that team is hand selected by me personally, and for good reason.

To me, if someone has the potential to be something great, then I don't care about how they're ranked on a national or global scale.

Also, it's not just the Robotics Division that I've picked out exclusively either. My secretary is someone who I'm actually quite familiar with—ever since I met her when I was about to enter high school.

Her name's Ellis Gatling. Five years ago, my mom had introduced me to her. She was the younger sibling of a research associate she worked with.

Although she tried to act like a big sister to me, the reality was I could probably read her better than anyone else. Not to say she wasn't caring, but her kindness seemed to be more out obligation more than the simple sentiments I've studied from a distance.

Regardless, she's reliable and responsible enough where I can be content with having her handle things well enough in my stead. As professional as I try to be, there are times at work where we're comfortable enough to present antics akin to those from a familial bond.

Even more so since I've started staying at her apartment following the events of the last couple years...

Although, I didn't realize just how long I would need to have her act in my absence.

One afternoon, I found a red envelope in my postbox. Curious, I opened it and examined the contents of the letter.
