(Matteo POV)
I had stayed in my dorm room for a bit before lying down for a brief nap. It had only been a few minutes before the nighttime announcement came on while I was clearing my head after all that had happened earlier with Eva.
The Ultimate Mathlete... I should probably make an edit to my dossier if that's the case. Though, I have to wonder if she had anything to gain from giving herself a title like the Ultimate Liar...
I hadn't really thought much about Eva's Ultimate talent since there wasn't much about her that seemed particularly malicious, at least from what I know so far. I didn't think that her title wasn't odd, but I also didn't care for what her title meant for her as a human being. And lo and behold, she was obscuring her official title with a different one.
'Liar' is a pretty interesting choice for a cover. Though, I guess she wasn't anticipating the profiles to come into play. Hopefully, that should be enough to get people off her back about being connected to our kidnapping.
...
Speaking of which, 'might be a good idea to reconnect with Eva about that poster we found–
*Ding dong, bing bong!*
The chime of the familiar bell brought me back from my thoughts.
"It is now 8 p.m.! Nighttime is officially upon us. Please return to your dorm rooms and prepare for a good night's sleep...
...or don't! I'm not your parent. Just remember: tonight could be the night which changes your life forever. Whether that's for better or worse...is for you to find out...
...Goodnight~."
*...Click!*
With that chilling tone in Tozu's farewell, the speaker shut off with a click.
...
Maybe Eva's still awake... I doubt just anyone could sleep through an announcement like that unless they were completely exhausted.
Lifting myself from my bed, I stretched a bit before taking my headset off the desk and putting on my shoes.
Heading towards the door, I gave the lock a turn, grasped the handle and pulled it open.
Checking the hallway, I looked for Eva's door on the opposite side of the corridor. It wasn't too far from my room: just between Diana's and Toshiko's rooms. Her nameplate brandished a white gemstone, probably a diamond.
I gave her door a knock to check if she was inside.
...
......
No response.
"Eva, are you there...?" I called out.
...
I can't tell if she's ignoring me or what...
I knock a few more times, hoping that she answers.
...
......
Still no answer.
Maybe she's not in her room... Let me check to see if it's locked.
Grabbing the door handle, I turned it.
