As her mother called for her and Dimitri for dinner all Alyssa could think about was the boy. It has plagued her throughout the whole day. She tried to make it forcibly slip from her mind when she got Dimitri to train her but she knows he knows something is wrong.

Her mother hands out their dinner of potato soup and she and Dimitri eat it appreciatively. However, Alyssa can't help but eat slower than usual which of course catches her eagle eyed mothers attention.

"Alyssa what's wrong? You usually eat your dinner so quickly I hardly believe it was there in the first place!" Dyanna jests but quickly turns more serious when she notices her daughter is practically unresponsive. Suddenly though, everything spills out.

"Mother who was my father?" Alyssa blurts. The air goes thick and the tension is easily recognised. Her mothers face turns shocked whilst her brother looks at her with a look of realisation. Now knowing the true meaning of her earlier request for training.

"What's made you suddenly ask?" Dyanna asks with a raised brow as she continues to eat her food.

"Well there was this boy..."

"Boy? He didn't see your face did he?" Dyanna asks looking alarmed for her daughter.

"Yes he did... but he had the same hair as me mother! Then he said something about the Targaryens-"

"You will not speak that name in this household!" Dyanna buts in looking alarmed at the mere mention of the name.

"But why mother?! What is so wrong with house Targaryen, that you refuse to speak about it?!"

Dyanna looks at her child with sadness before turning to her eldest. "Dimitri go to your room. I must speak with your sister in private."

"But-"

"No buts Dimitri this is a private matter."
Dimitri gave a small huff, looking at his sister with sympathy before following his mothers orders and heading to his room upstairs. It was a few moments of silence that followed where Alyssa saw how her mother looked truly. Stressed and tired.

"You are aware that I was a whore before you were born... yes?" Dyanna asks not being able to look Alyssa in the eye.

"Yes? That's what you told me. But what about it?" Alyssa questions.

"There was a man. A beautiful one. Who worshipped me like I was a goddess." Dyanna reminisces. "He wouldn't pull out of me. But I drank moon tea every time. Only one day... the man held me afterwards for the first time since we laid together. So I never got the opportunity to drink the tea..."

"What has this man got to do with the Targaryens? Was he a lord of the council?"

"No my darling girl... the main I laid with was Prince Daemon..."

Alyssa looks at her mother in shock. She felt her life flashing before her eyes. She had heard of the Prince in passing. How he supposedly dishonoured Princess Rhaenyra long ago in a whore house. How he was secretly after the throne that he knew he'd never achieve fairly being a second son. But these whispers made her head spin. Her father... was a prince. She had an eligibility for the throne... she could make something of herself. Yet with all these thoughts coursing through her mind all she could say was a simple oh. The silence became deafening.

"Does he know?" Alyssa finally questions with a small voice.

"Does he know what my child?"

"Does he know of my existence?" Alyssa asks even quieter.

Dyanna let's out a scoff. "Of course he does not know child! He may have lain with me for a while but you must learn that the Targaryen men breed lies like cattle. That is why they are filled with queer customs and blood soaked tunics. The Prince left shortly after we spent the night together. As far as I am aware after that night he left to marry Laena Velaryon. Always trying to find a way to reach kinghood..."

Alyssa stays quiet during her mothers rant. Her father has no idea of her existence. Granted, many lords on the council of lords have given women children they could not rid themselves off. Children with unknown fathers practically ran the streets of silk. Their destiny's sealed into stone. Yet Alyssa's destiny was intertwined with Valyrian steel and stone. She was the one who would become the downfall of the dance. The gods flipped a coin when Alyssa was born in that whore house, and it was still flying through the air as she breathed.

"You want to find him don't you?" Dyanna questions quietly looking at her daughter with an exhausted look.

"And what if I did..."

"Then I won't stop you from finding him little one. You took after him in that area... Prince Daemon was always a self arrogant prick who didn't know when to stop..." Dyanna scoffs with a small smile.

Alyssa stared at her mothers face with a saddened expression. She could see the memories pass through her mothers mind as she spots the reminiscent expression on her face. She could tell her mother had once loved Daemon many moons ago. From the way she spoke of his actions he was a good actor. He played her mother to get what he wanted. Something to get wet with. Alyssa definitely did not plan to greet Daemon with open arms... that is for certain.
