Whilst she was being carried, she must have slipped off into unconsciousness because when she opened her eyes she was strapped to an upright body mould, tied down (again) and being forced to stare at a screen full of swirling colours due to the fact that her eyes were being held open by metal holders. Great. She was so looking forward to whatever was going to come next. "Ah, Miss McCaide. Back in this world are we, good. I was really rather afraid that we were going to have to use harsh methods to wake you up, but I suppose that a flying Wolfblood elemental is made of stronger stuff than that." It was her arch nemesis no.1, pointy ears. He smirked. "Well then I suppose that we had better get on with the proceedings then shouldn't we. You will comply." His smirk deepened and now became more of an evil grin than a smile. "Yeah, yeah whatever." Said Jayne. "But first a question. Make that two actually. First of all, what is the purpose in torturing me like this? I mean I'm just a young girl. And secondly, what is your name? I have no desire to go round calling you pointy ears the whole time, that would get totally boring."
"In answer to your second question." Said pointy ears, her humour totally wasted on him. "My name is Torrence. And our purpose, well I would have thought that was clear. We dark fae wish to join with the light fae and regain our rightful place as the rulers of human society. You shall be the weapon that we use to get them comply. You shall be our bomb, our greatest resource. You shall be the destroyer of society as you know it and force it to give way to our way. And you will comply."
"Back up a minute, who are the light fae?"
"Those weak minded fae that attend your school are part of the light fae community." Said Torrence. "But enough talk, first we must get you to comply."
He stepped out of her line of vision, leaving her only able to see the ever changing, swirling colours on the screen in front of her. Then she heard Torrence's voice resonate throughout the chamber that she was in. It wasn't that he was speaking loudly, only that he was applying it in such a way that it echoed everywhere. Of course it helped that the room was utterly silent except from Jayne's heartbeat, although she suspected that that was something that only she could hear, no matter how hard it was thumping in her chest. Life sucked for her right now. "Look into the colours." He said. "Become part of the colours, embrace them, let your power accept them. Do it now." So Jayne did what she was told, not knowing any other way out of her predicament. But then something he had said caught her interest. He had said to let her power accept the colours, so to do that, she obviously had to have a connection to her powers. So if she had that, was there a type of fae that could receive telepathic messages, and if so, could she, through using her power send one to them. It was obvious that they were trying to hypnotise her, but that wouldn't work now that she was onto them. But she could feel that she had a connection to her power source, so she delved deep into it, feeling that there was a new part of it that hadn't been there before. She knew that she wouldn't have time to explore it now so she went further in, looking for something to help her achieve her goal. Then something stood out slightly in the jumble of gifts, so she ventured towards it, knowing instinctively that it was exactly what she needed.
Now it was time to put her plan into action. It shouldn't be too hard, she thought to herself. The only difficult part would be finding the right person to send the message to. There was no harm in trying thought so she followed the link her power wanted her to take, deciding that the most likely way that she was going to be able to make contact would be through Professor Jenkins. She allowed thoughts of her Professor to fill her mind, it wasn't too hard, after all, she did have a few months worth of memories to choose from. Then she felt something new, she seemed to be in the mind of someone else. She could tell that it was an adult, and there was something about the energy in the mind that reminded her of her teacher. So she desperately tried to make contact, mentally screaming 'Professor Jenkins, it's me, Jayne McCaide. Please come and help me! I have been captured by the dark fae. Please, I don't know how much longer I can last!' Then she heard another voice, although it wasn't so much that she heard it, more like the thoughts were placed into her head. It had the Professor's energy signature. 'Jayne, don't worry, we're coming for you. We should be at the dark fae compound within the hour, just hold on. I believe in you. All of us light fae believe in you. I'm so sorry that we didn't tell you what you truly were earlier, but we were scared of what it could mean for all of us and for you. Just hold on. If you could create a distraction to make it easier for us to sneak in that would be great. But whatever you do, do not mention to anyone that there is a rescue plan in place for you. Go and begin the distraction in about 45 minutes. I'll contact you when we need you to start. Just hang on in there.'
Knowing that it was time to return to the dark fae compound she severed the link between her and the Professor and returned to her own brain. The she had a bright idea. Why didn't she start a distraction now, make it so that she lured in some guards early then step it up a notch so that she pulled in all the rest after her. It should work a treat. Time to begin phase 1 of her master plan. "Torrence, my power refuses to comply and my wolf refuse to comply therefore, I shall not comply."
"What do you mean, your power and your wolf will not comply? They are yours force them to obey you. You do not want to find out what our methods are for forcing you to comply. They shall not be pleasant. Try again girl, I have no wish to harm you."
"My powers will not listen to me as they believe that I have the liberty to walk around and take a break. My wings and powers are itching to be used and my wolf wishes to be free. They will not allow me to do what you want until they get what they want to the full extent. Maybe if you let me out for 40 minutes or so they will be happy and easy to control, but until then, you have no chance."
"Fine child, you shall have your 40 minutes. Just be glad that I am in a good mood. Now you shall wait here until I return with a contingent of fae to stop you from escaping." With that, Torrence left the room and Jayne was left to her own thoughts. A couple of minutes later, Jayne was walking out of the room flanked by 30 different fae and grinning internally. That certainly was one way to get rid of some of the guards. Soon she was outside, in a large courtyard with plenty of space for her to fly in, to use her powers in and to transform into her wolf self. She could tell now that that was what the extra part of her power was, and now that she was outside, she could tell that it had sharpened all her senses. She couldn't wait to experiment with these new wolf powers and to learn how they could merge with her fae ones. One of the dark fae witches had placed a spell on Jayne so that she couldn't escape but that didn't stop her from taking to the air as soon as she was able to, relishing in the feeling of joy that overwhelmed her when she was up there. Whilst in the air she used her powers, feeling that the elements were happy that she had joined them once more. She spent about 20 minutes in the air before gracefully landing, glad that her second landing was far easier and much more pain free than her first. Next she decided to shift into her wolf form. It was quite quick and it was fully painless. As she was shifting, she saw that the veins all over her body went black, although after that it didn't take too long until she shifted. Everything was different as a wolf, but just as natural to her as the new powers she had gained in other parts of her life were. Just when her 40 minutes were nearly up she shifted back into human form and just as she did that she heard Professor Jenkins' mental voice inside her head. 'Jayne, if you could begin your distraction now, that would be great. We are about 5 minutes away from the gates. Good luck, see you in a bit.'
Then Jayne had another idea. If she told the professor where to find her, it would save them time searching through all the rooms. 'Professor Jenkins, I'm outside in a courtyard at the compound. You'll probably see loads of power blasts soon, look for me there.'
'Thank you Jayne.' The professor said back. 'Begin now.'
Someone in the contingent of dark fae told her that it was time to return to Torrence. But Jayne adamantly refused and unfurled her wings again and jumped into the sky, blasting her power everywhere she could. She had found that no matter how much she used her power, the amount of it never diminished. So she blasted and called upon some of her powers to create lightning that she could use against her enemies. She saw one of them calling into a walkie-talkie, probably to bring in more reinforcements. Sure enough, after about a minute she saw 60 more fae, quickly followed by 60 more. This was excellent. Even if there were fae left as guards, it would be less than the amount she was facing. Now was the time to get rid of the bad guys. She wouldn't kill them of course, just knock them unconscious. So she gathered her lightning and sent down enough bolts with a stunning charge to hit half the fae in the group. Half the fae then fell down unconscious. Jayne knew that she could have just done that to all of the group but she wanted to investigate further with her other powers as well. Next she robbed the air around them of oxygen, just until they fainted before she returned all the air. She left one person standing however. The person who had cast the spell on her. She knew that she wouldn't be able to escape with her friends if this spell wasn't removed so she landed, and walked slowly over to the old, ugly lady who was left standing. She put up an invisible, protective shield bubble of earth power and gathered a ball of lightning in her hand. She stopped a metre in front of the old woman. "Reverse the spell on me, or you'll be sorry." Said Jayne. "Don't try any funny business either witch, because then your fate shall be even worse than those of your brethren."
Jayne thought that it must have been because of the fact that the woman was so scared of Jayne from what she had just seen happen, that she reversed the spell straight away. As soon as she felt that it was reversed, she pressed the ball of lightning against her and she spasmed into unconsciousness just like the others. Only 3 minutes had passed so she leaped into the air and flew up to just below the layers of clouds in the atmosphere. This was when she called her new extraordinary vision into play as she flew over the gates and out to where bleak moorlands waited for her. However, she was not the only person in these moors because she saw a large group of people running towards the compound. As the two parties drew closer, she saw that it was her light fae family coming to rescue her. Leading the group were Sophie, Lucy, Professor Jenkins and her friends Becky, Samantha, Ben, Sebastian, Theresa, Anton, Erin, Bella and Mike. A massive smile broke across her face as she put on extra speed and went into a steep dive. Her friends looked up and saw her just as she was coming to about 50 metres above them when she faced the right way up and slowed her dive down. She gently fell the last 50 metres and landed right in front of the group and was immediately enveloped in huge hugs from everyone. "Guys, I don't feel so good." She said before drifting into unconsciousness.
