"Mum, I'm home Jayne called as she opened the front door.
"Oh, hi honey, I'm in the kitchen."
Jayne opened the kitchen door and saw her mother standing there stirring some saucepans full of an unidentifiable substance from her position at the door. "I'm just about to go up to my room to do my homework."
"Ok, how heavy is your load today?"
"Not too bad thanks. It shouldn't take too long till I finish."
With that she climbed the stairs up to her room sat down and began to work. Just as she had suspected, it didn't take her too long to figure out her homework on vectors, not after her moment of realisation anyway. But after that, she had some private research to do. Opening up a new window on her computer she searched up fae on the Internet and was shocked by what she saw. According to myths, the fae were supernatural creatures that roamed the earth. There were two types of fae, light and dark and each were governed by different rulers. In essence it was a bit like a supernatural Ireland. Each belonging to the 'same' nation, yet governed by different people. Sighing, she logged off her computer and walked across the room and lay down. Why had the two Jenkins' been talking like the supernatural existed? Were they crazy? The fae couldn't exist it was scientifically impossible. She was still thinking about all that could not happen when her mum called her down to dinner. She was still thinking about it when she was sitting down watching television and still thinking about it when she finally managed to fall into a fitful sleep.
The next couple of weeks happened in a similar fashion, each day she grew more confident as she managed to navigate her way around the school. She also had grown even closer to the people who were worth talking to, those who were at her table that first lunchtime, Becky, Samantha, Chase, Ben, Sebastian, Theresa, Anton, Erin, Bella and Mike. That wasn't to mention Sophie who she grew closer to every single day. The two of them were as thick as thieves, even though she still hadn't discovered anything new about the fae. So far, everything was normal, but that all changed on the Tuesday of the fourth week since she had joined Howells.
