"Ah, Nathaniel. Of all people, you showed yourself" Augustus said in an appalled attitude.

"For a prince, you are rather uncivilized, Augustus" Nathaniel then replied.

"This is none of your business, Nathaniel" Archer butted in.

"That's right, Nathaniel. Excuse yourself this instant"

"Archer, we're leaving. Now" Nathaniel grabbed young Archer by his wrist.

"Get your filthy hands off of me" Archer broke through Nathaniel's grip before continuing to say, "I am leaving with neither of you. You two are are such insolent, egoistic princes."

"Don't you dare say such vile words about me, Archer, I am higher than you" Augustus firmly said.

"Higher than me?" Archer scoffed. "I couldn't care any less of your ranking, prince Augustus. Nor could I care about your proposal toward I. You princes are nothing but disgusting creatures. Prince Nathaniel" he turned to the prince as he stood behind him. "Do you even know how I arrived at the palace of Lendorr? By coach? Nay, but rather by horseback."

"What? I was told you arrived by coach" Nathaniel said.

"Oh you couldn't be more wrong. Horseback and unclean. I had just woken up and immediately thrown into your hands yet you dropped me. And you, Prince Augustus, you were the cause of such situation."

"Excuse me?" Augustus scoffed.

"Ever since you graced Lendorr with your presence, all has gone downhill. You are the cause of every bad thing that had happened between Nathaniel and I. Without you, I am sure I would be married to Nathaniel. You two ruined my life and you want me to marry?" Archer scoffed and began to walk away.

"Archer, where are you going?" Nathaniel followed behind him.

"I shall make haste to the ball before anyone catches us in the gardens alone" Archer replied to the prince.

Nathaniel stopped in his tracks to let Archer storm off. An encounter that was long awaiting to happen had finally arrived. Nathaniel had been shamed, Augustus rejected and Archer fooled. Love never resided between these three. Only hatred, betrayal and resentment.

Archer stood by the food table with nothing but a glass of wine in his hand and a face of disgusted on his face. "Why do you seem so beset with gloom, dearest?" A sweet voice of a lady said behind Archer. He turned to see her majesty, Queen Angelique.

"Oh, your majesty" he bowed to the queen.

"Oh stand, dear" the queen spoke. "Whatever would you be doing at this ball with no chaperone, Archer?"

"Well, if you must know, your royalty, I.. do not know why I am here. My friend, Francesca lured me into arriving here"

"Ah, I see. So, Archer, you and Nathaniel-"

"I'm sorry to cut you off, your majesty, but I will not mingle with Nathaniel any longer"

"All is well, dear. But I must ask, will you be attending Brandon's crowning?"

"Crowning? Will you be bestowing the title of duke to Brandon, your majesty?"

"Yes indeed. Jonathan will be inheriting the royal thrown once I'm gone, so I shall leave Brandon with a duchy. Maybe then he'll see his importance in the monarch"

"Most certainly. But what about Nathaniel?"

"What about him?" Angelique picked up a glass of wine and took a sip as she smiled. Archer smiled back with a chuckle as he also took a sip. It seems the queen and Archer have a peculiar relationship, regardless of their previous endeavours.

"Shall we dance, dearest?" The queen asked.

"...me? You want me to dance with her majesty?" Archer was shocked at the queen's request.

"You do not require your queen to ask twice now, do you dear?"

"Well of course not, I just didn't think a queen with high status such as you would want to dance, let alone with me"

"We're nearing the end of the season, dear. Come on now"

Archer bowed then smiled at the queen before landing his arm for her to take. They graced the dancefloor as they waltzed together in harmony with the orchestra. What a great way to end the evening ball, wouldn't you agree?
