The Hawthornes, Archer included, had now finished their stay at their family's most priced palace, Palace Anruin. It was but time for them to depart and make their way back to Palace Lendorr, in order to both end ties with Speldia and prepare the royal chapel for the first male and male marriage of the kingdom.
"Dare I ask but what will Prince Archer wear?"
"A wedding gown?"
"A tuxedo?"
"Who's the male?"
"Who's the female?"
"How will they sire an heir?"
"How will they indulge in intercou-"
All sorts of questions, spewed out by the people of Lendorr. Yes, it was very heartwarming to see how loyal and supportive they were to the royal family but that does not cancel out their concerns.
Archer sat in his chamber, as Francesca prepared him for his wedding.
"Now then, dearest Archer, you look absolutely stunning" she said. Archer looked himself in his mirror. His hair was cut to perfection, his completely white tuxedo contrasting with the black strands of hair.
He couldn't help but start to feel uneasy. He felt as if all the food he's consumed in his life was about to exit through his mouth. He stood up and started pacing around to calm his nausea.
"Oh my word, I cannot believe it. I am to be getting married" he said as he started to stress.
"To the love of your life, might I add! No need to worry, Archer. You'll be amazing" Francesca smiled.
"Not at all, Francesca! What if the prince wants to sire an heir? How will that come to be?" Archer cried.
"Archer. It is your wedding night. Your future husband is waiting patiently for you at the chapel. You. Must. Hang. In. There." Francesca said as she held Archer in his place by the shoulders, glaring straight into his eyes.
Surprisingly, this calmed Archer down. Everytime he thought about Nathaniel, all his problems would flutter away. He got his composure, stood straight, chin up and ready for action.
"Let us go get wedded."
--
Everyone sat at the chapel, waiting for Archer. There were noble lords and ladies, dukes and duchesses, earls, viscounts and vicountesses, priests and bishops and the archbishop, ready for the welcoming of a new prince to the Hawthorne Royal Family.
Nathaniel kept tapping his foot, checking the time, fixing himself, all in anticipation of his fiancé waltzing into the chapel, ready to become his husband.
King Jonathan and Prince Brandon stood next to him as the king said, "You're getting married before me brother. What an accomplishment"
"Hilarious indeed" Nathaniel said, feeling important.
"But remember my threat, Nathaniel," Brandon said. "If you hurt him, the consequences shall be indeed very dire"
"Rest assured, Brandon. I will never, under any circumstance, ever hurt my husba-"
Just then, the wedding bells rang. The violinists and pianists began to play the wedding music. Everyone stood up and turned toward the chapel entrance door.
And there he was. Archer walked in, breathlessly making his way toward the prince. Everyone murmured positively as they took glances at Archer. The rose petals on the floor made way for Archer, as every step he took was light and happy.
Nathaniel was breathless. The lights that peered through the chapel lit up Archer's white tuxedo, making him glisten with grace. He couldn't believe that he was about to marry such a gorgeous beauty.
He got back to his senses once Archer was stood in front of him. He held his hand and smiled, with the words, "You look absolutely astounding"
Archer blushed at the compliment and said, "The same goes for you"
Instead of wearing a pure white tuxedo, Nathaniel wore a cream white tuxedo instead. All this white attire brought much needed attention to the two.
"Settle down, please" the priest stood near the two. Everyone, including the Hawthornes and Father Hastings sat down.
"We are gathered here today, in holy matrimony, to join the beautiful souls of these two men over here" the priest continued. "Prince Nathaniel Hawthorne, have you prepared your vows?"
"Oh, yes of course" Nathaniel cleared his throat and proceeded to say, "Archer. My love. From the very first day I laid my eyes on you, I could not keep them off. You stole my heart in multiple ways. You are a beautiful diamond in my eyes. No words can describe the amount of affection that I feel toward you. It was as if cupid himself shot me with his arrow and thus, making me swoon over you. An angel like you decided to agree to marry a prince like me. I could go on and on but this all needs but a few words: I love you, Archer Hastings"
The women present were in absolute awe. Those words made them fall for the prince.
Archer couldn't contain his bright smile, which stretched from ear to ear. He wanted Nathaniel's lips on his right this instant.
"...Young Master?" The priest said, snapping Archer back into reality.
"Yes of course" Archer cleared his throat. "My dearest lover, Prince Nathaniel Hawthorne. Ever since my birth, I did not even entertain the thought that I would one day marry into royalty. Or even a royalty as charming as you. Indeed, we have had our highs and lows, ups and downs but... look where we are. Standing in front of each other, hand in hand, with diamond rings on both of our marriage fingers. This signifies the beginning of a new era. The era of our love, our marital love. Nathaniel, I am truly glad, proud, happy and grateful to be the one who you love. I promise to continue to cherish you, til fate does its part. I, Archer Hastings, of the House of Hastings, will gladly accept the welcoming into the House of Hawthorne" Archer vowed, with a gentle smile.
"With the power invested in me, I pronounce you husband and husband. You may kiss" and with the blessing of the priest, Nathaniel and Archer kissed, initiating their marriage.
About an hour after their marital engagement, Archer was crowned. Long live Prince Archer Hawthorne.
