Despite the tragic event, Lendorr continued to thrive. Under the rule of Queen Angelique, the kingdom was able to maintain its title as the number 1 kingdom. She righteously held her ground as the first Queen of the Kingdom of Lendorr.
As she fulfilled her duties as Queen, she also marvelously fulfilled her duties as a mother to the princes of the land. Prince Jonathan, Prince Nathaniel and Prince Brandon grew up to become great brothers. They were adored by the kingdom's people, especially the maidens.
Jonathan proved to be a worthy heir to the throne. Brandon was the kind to be bratty as Jonathan would say (y'know, since he's the youngest of the bunch) but Nathaniel was the special kind of the three.

Now now, we've covered the royal family but how could we forget about the male lead?
Archer Hastings, the only son of a farmer in a small village named the Village of Alodias. Archer was adored by the village people. He would help the elders run errands, play with the kids and feed the orphans.
"Good morning" Archer says to his father as he walks down the stairs. "Good morning, you heavy sleeper" his father said.
"Oh come on father, I only took a nap of 30 minutes"
"Yes you did say that, but you've slept for over an hour"
"...oh...well forgive me father, I'll be headed out now!" Archer said as he ran out the door.
Archer ran through the village, and the village people greeted him with 'good morning' or 'hello there Archer'. Of course, he returned the greetings.
"Good morning Archer" old lady Margaret said. "Morning Ms Margaret!" Archer replied.
"Have you heard the news?" Margaret said. She was known as the village's gossip girl, even tho she was 70 years of age.
"What news?" Archer asked.
"Prince Nathaniel is searching for a wife" she said, laughingly.
"Oh? Well good on him" Archer replied.
"You should go pursue the young prince, Archer"
"Ms Margaret!" He said with a gasp.
"Oh I'm sure you'll satisfy the prince very well, young Archer"
"B-but you said Prince Nathaniel was searching for a wife, I'm no lady!"
"Oh come on, Archer, you know the prince has never found interest in maidens. He said so at Prince Brandon's birth night ball"
"I call you bluff, Margaret, and I'll be leaving now" Archer then left for home, with a visible line of blush across his face. 'Me? As Prince Nathaniel's concubine? Impossible' Archer thought.

That evening, Archer couldn't sleep. He tossed and turned at the thought of being Prince Nathaniel's concubine.
While his mind was spiraling in thoughts, the prince had been searching for a wife for 10 months. Nathaniel had sent royal guards to search for a concubine in villages across the land. They would bring a maiden from each village to meet with the prince, but he would turn them away immediately. He was puzzled as none of the maidens lived up to his standards, and he himself didn't understand why.
Nathaniel was in his study when he heard a knocked on the door. "You may enter" Nathaniel said with a soft yet deep voice. Queen Angelique entered the study to speak to Nathaniel.
"Ah, good evening mother. Please, have a seat" he said.
"My darling, Nathaniel, have you found a wife yet?" Angelique asked as she sat down.
With a sigh, Nathaniel replied, "None of them appeased me. Even though they were the most beautiful maidens of the village they were sent from"
Angelique looked at her puzzled son, and said "have you tried Alodias Village?"
"The royal guards reported that there aren't any maidens of age that reside in that village. Only a 26 year old boy named Archer Hastings" Nathaniel replied.
"Hmm, why don't you try this young Archer?" Angelique asked.
"Mother!"
"What if that's what you have been searching for? Instead of a maiden, how about a male concubine?"
"That's absurd! How could a man lie in the same bed as another man?!"
"Oh come on son, it wouldn't be the first time it has happened. The first king of Lendorr, King Matthew, was rumored to have had an affair with a male, and the rumors proved to be true. Since then, relationships between two men arose all across the kingdom"
"Well I wouldn't court another man, mother"
"Just try this Archer Hastings boy, you may be surprised" Angelique said as she stood up to leave the study.

Nathaniel laid on his bed inside his sleeping chambers when he thought about what his mother said. 'Should I court this Hastings boy? ...hmm' Nathaniel got out bed and ordered for a group of 5 royal guards to meet him in his study.
"You called, your majesty?" one guard said.
"Tomorrow morning, bring me Archer Hastings of Alodias Village" Nathaniel said.
"That young boy?" a second guard said. "Isn't your majesty searching for a wife?"
"Archer will be my wife. Do not question me, and that is an order" Nathaniel said. "Now leave my study"
The royal guards were confused, but they didn't dare question the prince. They bowed and left the study, leaving the young prince alone with his thoughts. 'Archer Hastings...should I be courting you?'
