Hell. That is the only way to describe this awful place.

Living in an orphanage has always sucked. Especially if you have been there since you were only a few months old. That's what happens when your parents didn't want you in the first place.

I sit on my dull, uncomfortable bed and draw. It's the only thing to do round here so I have gotten pretty good at it.

Thankfully it is Saturday so I don't have to go to the old bully school and get battered. That's the downside to being the freaky goth girl.

I wouldn't exactly call myself a goth. I don't know. Never met one so I wouldn't know.

I hear a few bangs on the dark brown door to the left of me and one of the women who work here tells us (me and Lassy, my only friend) to get in a presentable state as there is a couple looking for a new daughter.

I slip on some black leggings and a Kasabian tour T-Shirt before going into the bathroom. I brush my teeth, wash my face and then try to tame my long, blomde curls.

Being a blonde sucks. Everyone always expects you to be the dumbest person you will ever meet but that's not true. Not to toot my own horn or anything but I am top in my classes at school.

I make my way downstairs and line up with all the other girls. This is an girl's orphanage. The woman inspects us one by one making sure we are looking relatively decent and then lets us all go one by one into the meeting room.

I am one of the last to go in but when I do I get a shock. Sitting down in front of my chatting away are two men. Okay.

They look quite young. Probably in their twenties. One has raven black hair and striking blue eyes while the other has warm brown eyes and is a brunette.

The brunette looks over the other's shoulder to where I am standing. "Hi! Come and sit down." I walk slowly over to the couch oposite the two men.

"So." The blue eyed one begins. "Whatst your name?" I rub my arm awkwardly. "K-Katie." The men nod and smile warmly.

"Well I'm Dan," The brown eyed one holds a hand to his chest before pointing to his partener. "And this is Phil." I force a small smile onto my face.

"So. What made you want to adopt one of the devils in here?" Phil laughs. "Are you tying to imply you're a devil?"

The smile on my face slowly becomes genuine. "Well. I wouldn't say that. But I have been told by the workers here that I am the troubke maker."

Dan laughs at this. "How old are you? You don't look like you are young enough to be in here. Isn't there that rule that when the kid is sixteen they can move out?" I snort.

"I'm thirteen." Dan pushes himself back in his chair in disbelief. "How! You look about seventeeen!" I brush my fringe out of my green eyes.

"Yea. I get that a lot. I'm just tall and I guess you could kind of say mature for my age." Phil smiles and then whispers something to Dan which makes me feel uncomfortable.

"Well the Katie the thriteen year old troubke maker, how would you like to come home with us?"

HI! So. It is quite a short one but this is just to get the feel and so that the story can progress. Pretty crap start but nothing can be perfect hey?

I hope you enjoy this book and carry on reading it.

Sorry for any spelling of gramatical inaccuracies.

Until next time!
