Cassandra POV

"Hi" I greet getting off the elevator. Walking to Schleiden's desk. "Miss Chapman how is your first day going" he greets looking away from his computer. "Good so far"
"Have you met the other managers?" he asks "not yet" I stand at his desk.

"I am arranging a meeting in two days for the general management it would be great to get to meet them" he announce looking through his papers. "Yeah thanks for telling me, mister Schleiden "
"Please, call me jack" he stands up holding a stack of paper. I nod happily. "I will inform knight that you are here" he enters her office. I wait patiently and can't help but notice there are two stacks of files, one which has a grey color, the other is pitch black from far you think it's a block.

"Ahem" he clears his throat holding the door for me. "Oh thank you" I go to him and he bows his head closing the door behind me. I look around and no one is there. The office is empty the drawing table is gone, there is a stack of paper on the desk.

"Good morning" a voice from behind me startling me "cheeses and biscuits" I gasp turning around to the tall figure. Artemis knight. She chuckles deeply "cheeses and biscuits! What are you? Six?" She moves to the library. "No, I just prefer not to curse" I defend myself. "Whatever suits you"

"So as your first day, you have to go through the past papers so you can handle the new," she says picking a book. "How far back?" I ask. "About five months," she thinks out loud. "Hmm okay I will"

"Schleiden will show the room where I keep all the papers" she presses a button and jack comes in. "Okay," I say walking into the office and following jack. "Artemis sounds like a very busy person," I think out loud. "As a person who has this much money she must work for it," he says looking forward. "Yeah.... you worked for long?" I ask again. "I am the first person she hired" he declares opening the door for me. "Wow"

"So here are all the papers you will check," he says, and I look in the room it's not big but as small as the walls are stacked with drawers and there is a long table in the middle and a cup filled with pens. "Must check them all today?" I ask looking around. "Did she give a deadline?"

"No"

"Then no, but I suggest you finish them first so the work doesn't pile up" he suggests. I hum in response. He excuses himself and I stand looking around and I notice a row of drawers doesn't have labels. "Oh and sorry I almost forgot," jack says startling me. "These ones are Artemis's personal don't check them" he points at the ones I was talking about. "Why?"

"They are private " he exclaims. "But why are they here if they are private" I question. I don't understand. "Because this floor is for Artemis only which means all these rooms are forbidden to enter including this one" he points to the ground. "But how am I?"

"Miss Chapman I advise you to follow the rules clearly as they are if you don't want a problem with knight" he warns and I notice his body language has changed. I don't understand why would she want me to check the papers here if there are private stuff and why only me. "I don't make problems mister Schleiden I solve them" I smile.

"Good " is the last thing he says before leaving the room. I sigh look around the room and look at the forbidden drawers again. What trouble may those cause I was going to open them anyway, but I stopped. This room must have cameras. Maybe this is a test. Testing my loyalty. But curiosity is killing me. No, no Cassandra No.

I open another drawer and grab the papers dropping them on the table with a thud. I grab a chair then a pen and start with the first file.
-------------------------------✿✿

I finish checking 5 months' papers I wrote my notes on sheets of paper. that was hard but at least I am done. I think to myself as I walk to the door of the room glancing one last time at the 'forbidden drawers' and leaving. I head to jack's desk but I don't find him there, I raise an eyebrow. then I look at the clock hung on the wall

2:15

oh, David said that's their lunch break. hmm, but I really need to hand my notes to Artemis.....it's okay I will knock.

knock. knock. knock

I hear a come in I push the door and she has her legs up on the desk leaning back arms folded across her chest a book covering her face. her arms unfold and go to the book lifting slightly so one eye is shown she looks me up and down and clears her throat "what?" I can hear the irritation in her voice. I was starting to think of just throwing the papers at her and running away but I hold myself still.

"I have notes about the 5 months deals I think you should have at least a look at them if you don't want it's okay" I panic at the end of the sentence " where is Schleiden?" she asks unbothered about what I said. "he is on his lunch break" I answer as I shift in my stand rethinking why I came here in the first place. "lunch break?" she seats up straight letting the book fall to the ground. I nod slowly she faces palms herself and curses "shiiit"

"is there a problem?" I ask "no, I just forgot something," she says against her hand she then extends her hand to me I look at it for a second. she has big hands it's decorated with rings. NO CASSANDRA FOCUS. I give her the notes "oh yeah" she carefully scans "good job newbie I am impressed" she nods in approval. I smile widely. I was going to leave but I stop.

don't say it. don't say it.  "so umm" I turn around "what?" she brings her head up. the words are caught in my throat. don't you dare. "Can you have lunch with me" I finally say

"excuse me?"

great! you got us fired on our first day! she looks flabbergasted by my question. I don't blame her really for what kind of person says that? oh yeah, I AM "It's because I don't like having lunch alone and I don't know anyone but you here and-and I can't have lunch with David because I am his boss because it's not professional" I try to explain "and you think having lunch with YOUR boss is professional?!" her eyebrows lifted

"you are right. it's okay I am not hungry anyway" I shake my head and walk to the door but my stomach growls loudly.  "fine I can't let you starve yourself because you can't eat alone," she says standing up and picking up her suit jacket. "really! " I exclaim happily following her to the elevator.

we get to the elevator and I can't help but see the stares everyone was giving us or even me. just the little whispers. I noticed how important Artemis is and mostly how feard. how everyone backed away from in front of her and how while we were on the elevator no one got in with us when they noticed she was in it. just to make it clear about my thought everyone must fear her for a reason and I asked her to have lunch with me!
