A man lives out in the woods. The thought of being alone is terrifying. Stranded with no one to call out for help. The man lives off of the natural surroundings he has been placed in and adapts to any changes he has to overcome. Loneliness is but one thing it feeds off of. The one thing the man fears, not natural predators, but it. As he stands atop a great mountain he watches over the forest like a majestic bird, no worries, no fear, only freedom. The sun starts to set at an alarming pace. Fear fills his body. He stumbles down the mountain, tripping over a root of a great tree and hears something crack. He's unable to move. The pain is unbearable. He lies there panting, sweating, fearing. He hears something... He snaps his head left and right, his eyes, widened. He grasps onto the the ground, it's the only way of him feeling any sort of safety. It's dim out. A sweat breaks out. It feels as if he can't breathe. "Not now" he says. "Please" he begs with tears rolling down, not from the pain, but from fear, fear of dying. Death waits for no one he thinks. He breathes heavily. As it starts to get darker, he sees a dark shadowy figure in the distance. It's waiting for him. It's waiting. He feels his heart racing. He can't think straight. It feels as if he's being strangled. As it gets darker it slowly approaches him, bit by bit. The man lays there, unable to move, staring at this monster. He can't do anything. He feels terror flowing through his body, a feeling he's never felt before, not like this. This is death. He hears something walking, closing in. Shocked, he's unable to move, all he can do is sit and wait. He stares at it, into its eyes, it's truly horrifying. The last bit of light disappears. He lays there, with his eyes open in the dark. He can't see a thing. He tries slowing his breathing, but its no help. Its right in front of him. He can feel it breathing, he feels it's presence. The one thing he had been fearing had finally come to get him. He sits. Thinking of the life he had, the memories he had made, friends, family, everything. Everything that he'll be leaving behind. A tear falls as he slowly closes his eyes and lays back. He falls asleep, his final sleep. Death. The thing feared by every soul, a thing no person should ever wish for.
