The Star Sanes all have their quirks and flaws, but who has the silliest? Dream easily takes the cake, one of their fears being quite irrational. This fear is called strigiformophobia, the fear of owls.
Ink still teases Dream to this day, mostly mocking the situation and Dream's reaction. It was one of their movie nights, they all sat huddled together on their couch watching a comedy.
Dream ran their fingers over the soft velvet of the couch, it was their favorite thing to do. Ink asked millions of questions, Swap usually answering him or telling him "if he shut up he would know". Ink sighed and leaned back, he still asked more but ironically this time.
Suddenly the power went out. Dream groaned and got up, it was a common occurrence. They left the room and headed to the breaker box, it was the afternoon so there was still sunlight. Dream finished fixing everything and came back to the T.V powering back on. They plopped back down on the couch and cuddled into Swap.
Once the T.V turned on the station opened to a geographic documentary, the scene being specifically on owls. Dream shrieked and covered their eyes and shoved their face into Swap's ribcage.
"If I can't see it, it can't see me." Dream repeated.
Small snickers erupted that soon turned into howling laughter. Dream's face flushed a bright gold as they whined, they could tell it was Ink. A snort came confirming their suspicions.
"Are you afraid of owls!? That's so funny!" Ink continued their mocking. Mimicking noises and turning their head.
"Ink... We've gone over this, making fun of people isn't nice." Swap lectured.
"Wah, wah, wah. Making fun of people isn't funny." Ink mocked.
Swap glared at him, "Ink, go sit in our room. I will talk with you in a bit." Ink grumbled and left.
Dream got off of Swap and didn't face him.
"Little Light? Why'd you get off?" Swap asked, pulling Dream back to him. Dream only responded with a whine, "I don't mind if you're afraid of owls, everyone has their fears and likes."
"But Ink sai-"
Swap cut them off, "Ink is dumb sometimes... Often. He is very impulsive, you know that."
"I do. It still hurts. He laughed at me." Dream whined. Swap gave them a reassuring smile and hugged them gently. Dream cuddled into him.
"They can't hurt you, I promise I won't let them hurt you." Dream nodded and smiled into Swap's chest, "You're safe with us, my love."
Fast footsteps sounded as Ink came from around the corner. He plopped down on the couch and joined in the hug. Swap smiled and hugged back, Dream sandwiched between the two.
"You guys didn't want to invite me into the hug?" Ink looked up at Swap with one of his eyelight shaped as a blue tear. Ink gave his best pout to seem convincing. Blue rolled his eyes with a sigh as he squeezed Ink a bit tighter.
"You're silly." Dream praised.
Ink smiled and nodded, "You guys get the best of me."
Swap gave the two a peck on the skull, "We wouldn't prefer anything else."
