"L/n?"
I looked up to see... "Keefe?"
He looked surprised to see me, but smiled nonetheless- covering up his previous confusion with a smirk. "I'm flattered. You remember my name. Is it because of my stunning looks?" He wiggled his eyebrows. Ro snorted.
I stared at him- slightly annoyed. Did he really think it was alright to completely desert me for years, and then come back flirting like we were still best friends?
He frowned, fanning the air. "Wow your emotions have gotten waaaay stronger. They might even be more intense than Foster's!" He grinned, glancing back at where she was passing out splotchers to the other side of the room. His smile faded when he seemed to realise what emotions he was picking up on. "Woah hold up- are you..." He trailed off, turning to face me again. "Mad at me?"
I rolled my eyes. "My name is Y/n, not L/n." I told him with a scoff. "Just toss me a splotcher and go."
He faltered, looking hurt. Good. I'd been feeling that way for years- serves him right. "Yeah... See you around L/n- sorry, Y/n. Guess old habits die hard." He headed to the next pair, Ro trailing behind him, giving them their splotcher and a suggestive wink, quickly regaining his flirty upbeat persona.
"You good N/n?" Jensi asked, looking equal bits concerned and interested.
I nodded, smiling at the sound of Sir. Caton's voice. "MAY THE ULTIMATE SPLOTCHING CHAMPIONSHIP... BEGIN!" He announced.
"You heard him, Jen. Let's do this."
I laughed, standing up, grabbing a towel and helping Jensi clean up.
"Must say Jen, green really is your colour." I teased, moving to wipe his face off.
He sighed, keeping his eyes closed as I cleaned the green goop off. "I really thought I'd do better this time."
I nudged him. "C'mon. You beat half our grade." I said as I tossed the towel back into the pile with the rest of the dirty towels.
A smile crept onto his face as he opened his eyes. "I did, didn't I. And you were in that half." He teased.
I sighed, albeit grinning. "Alright. Let me have it. I know you wanna."
He giggled- or at least, he did at first. At some point between then and when Lady Alexine announced Sophie the winner, he had ended up hunched over, wheezing. It didn't stop either. The whole walk to the locker rooms, he spent laughing so hard he practically choked. And the whole walk to the cafeteria. And the whole time we were in line. I finally stopped him as we set our trays down at the table.
"Alright, alright Jensi. We get it." He giggled again, the coughing coming to a slow stop.
"You were covered in gr-green-" Jensi started, breaking out into laughter.
I sighed, holding in a laugh of my own. "I'm finding somewhere else to sit." I told him indignantly, grabbing my tray full of food and standing up. I smiled as I felt him latch onto my arm, despite barely being able to hold on between his wheezing interfering with his capability to do so.
"I'm-" He wheezed. "I'm done. I'm done I swear." He choked out.
"You promise?" I teased.
"Of course your highness." He teased back without missing a beat.

I frowned, studying Y/n and Jensi at the other end of the room. They both appeared to be having a great laugh about something...
"You good Keefe?" Fitz said, cocking an eyebrow.
"Yeah..." I said, still staring at them. "I think I'm actually going to head to my next session early." I told the group, looking back at them. I smirked, feeling Sophie's confusion. "Don't miss me too much Foster." I winked, grabbing my tray and standing up.
She rolled her eyes, as did Ro. "I don't know why you think you can end my eating time just because you're being all dramatic and angsty about that girl over there- but you can't. Sit back down scrawny boy."
"You don't have to come with me." I called back, not faltering as I continued towards the door.
She let out a string of words I couldn't understand- most likely ogre curse words and threats to lace my food. "Well since you wanted to go soooo bad." She grumbled as we exited the cafeteria. "Where are we going?"
I grinned sheepishly. "I... don't know?..."
She looked at me, stopped dead in her tracks. "You know what? I was really going to let you off the hook with that girl today. NO LONGER HUNKYHAIR! NO. LONGER."
I rolled my eyes, turning back to her and attempting to drag her along the tree strewn courtyard.
"Go on then." She insisted. "Tell me who she was."
I huffed in indignation. "She was nobody." I said, giving up and attempting to leave Ro behind.
"Didn't look like no one to me." She said, grabbing my arm and throwing me over her shoulder. "C'mon scrawny boy. We're going to that bench to have a nice long talk,"
I smirked. "Maybe we could even discuss the next verse to the ballad of Bo and Ro." I said, twisting out of her grasp- or at least trying to.
She hissed, shoving me towards the bench. "Keep it up and Lord Creepypants won't be the only one in the healing centre with Elwin tonight." She scoffed. "Now go. Spill- and don't forget the details. I sacrificed my lunch for this."
I mused my hair. "She's just another one of my fangirls, okay?" I told her, waving her off. "Now come on. It's been a while since we've been in detention- don't want anyone to think we've lost our touch."
She side eyed me, clearly not buying it, but shrugged and stood up. "Fine. But I'm going to get the story one way or another you know. I'll just ask blondie later."
I sighed, knowing she wasn't kidding. "Whatever."
