Chapter 12

Is there any cat you wanna see..?

Swiftwind's P.O.V

"Mosskit from this day forward you will be named, Mosspaw. I call down to my warrior ancestors to watch this new apprentice and teach her the ways of the Warrior Code. Nightspot you will be her mentor." Foxstar says standing on the High Ledge.

I sit besides the Medicine Cat den and watch Nightspot come forward to look down at Mosspaw. "Teach her everything Addertail has taught you." Foxstar continues. "I will." Nightspot vows then she lowers her head to touch noses with Mosspaw.

"Mosspaw! Mosspaw!" The clan yells, but then they were silenced by Foxstar so he could finish "Thristlekit, from this day forward you will be known as Thristlepaw, and Hollyclaw, will be your mentor." Hollyclaw steps up and stands just like Nightspot, "Teach her everything Littlefire has passed down to you." They touch noses.

"Thristlepaw! Thristlepaw! Mosspaw! Mosspaw!" The clan yells happy to have new apprentice's in the clan. "Make sure you are prepared for tomorrow for the attack." Foxstar says, then he dismisses the meeting.

I look at Mosspaw talking to Snowpaw "I'm an apprentice! Now we can do patrols together! And share the same den together! Oh I can't wait!" She purred brushing pelts with Snowpaw. He looked down at her and said "Yea, can't wait, Mosspaw." He gave a annoyed sigh but with Mosspaw purring like that Swiftwind wasn't surprise to see that she didn't hear it.

Swiftwind ignored them both and went in her den to see Brokenkit there. "You ok Brokenkit?" She asked as she made her way to where he was sitting. He looked up at her and moved his front paws in the dusty sand, "I uh, I was um, I was wandering if, if I could m-maybe when my time is here.... become um, your apprentice?" He asked me looking away. I looked down at him with amusement "What made you come up with that idea?" I asked him.

"Well, I did want to be a warrior but I had a dream, a brown she-cat with a white chest came to my dreams, she said I must become a Medicine Cat, I protested but she laughed. She said her son did that to but became a great Medicine Cat, she also told me to trust her."

I know the cat he is talking about. She sometimes meets me when I go to the Moon Pool. "I'll talk to Foxstar about it, now go on and play with your siblings." I tell him then watch him leave to go to the nursing. I sit there for a while thinking why she came to his dream. Does he have a power like her son?

I walk out of my den and head to the fresh-kill pile to grab me something to eat. When I get there I look over to see Mosspaw and Snowpaw sharing a plump mouse. I pick up a shrew and head back to my den to eat it alone. I take a few bites out of it when the noon patrol came through the camp entrance. I look up at my brother "Anything new?" I ask him. He drops his kill at the fresh-kill pile and comes over to me "Nothing new, besides Windclan's scent coming over our borders again." I sigh and get up, I hand my left over shrew to my brother "I have to go talm to Foxstar, can you finish this for me?" He nods and takes a bite out of it.

I walk over to Foxstar's den and stand at the entrance "Foxstar..?" I meow. I hear movement inside then a "Come In." I walk in and see Foxstar laying down in the very back of his den. "Yes Swiftwind?" He says.

"I came over here to tell you about Brokenkit, he came to me and asked me if he could become my apprentice when his time comes." I tell him calmly. "Well if he wants to become a Medicine cat I will let him." I smile "Thank you." I make my way out of his den and I walk back to mine to check my herb stock then I'll go to bed. I look at the nursery to see Brokenkit looking at me, I smile and he smiles back.
