Chapter 8

Swiftpaw P.O.V :BONuS CHAPtER!:

We got to the Moonstone to see all the Medicine Cats there. I knew it was going to be another boring gathering. Talk about herbs. Share dreams with StarClan, that part wasn't very boring, then talk more about herbs and clans.

Hawkclear went in the center of the group "I have something important to say." All the cats looked at him and sat around him.

Hawkclear looked at me "I, Hawkclear, medicine cat of ThunderClan, call upon my warrior ancestors to look down on this apprentice. She has trained hard to understand the ways of a medicine cat, and with your help she will serve her Clan for many moons-" he stops and I gasp for I am getting my full name! Hawkclear continues "-Swiftpaw, do you promise to uphold the ways of a medicine cat, to stand apart from rivalry between Clan and Clan and to protect all cats equally, even at the cost of your life?"

Swiftpaw nodded her head staying calm "I do."

Hawkclear continues "Then by the powers of StarClan I give you your true name as a medicine cat. Swiftpaw, from this moment you will be known as Swiftwind. StarClan honors your courage and kindness, and we welcome you as a full medicine cat of ThunderClan."

Hawkclear rests his muzzle on my head, and I lick Hawkclear's shoulder. The other medicine cats greet me by my new name.

"Swiftwind! Swiftwind! Swiftwind!"

Scoottail comes up to me licks my shoulder then goes to lay beside his mentor. They all touched noses to the stone and fell asleep. I look into the woods happy to get my name.

Swiftwind. Swiftwind. I keep saying my name getting used to it. I lay down and touch noses to the stone and blackness came over me.

"Swiftwind." Someone says my name. I turn to see Jayfeather. "I'm glad Hawkclear gave you that name. It fits you. I look at him. "Its suppose to right?" He purrs "Yes it is."

"How is Hawkmark? Staying away from him?" Jayfeather ask me while walking. I follow and answer him "Yes I've been staying away from him. I can get past him. He may be mad because I choose a medicine cat role and not warrior."

Jayfeather stopped and look at me coldly "Now that you got your full name stay away from him even more. He might be mad. He will destory your heart."

We started to walk again and said nothing. He started to fade and I knew the sun was about to come up. I blinked and he was gone.

I was gone......

I was falling. Down. Down. Down.

I then hit water. I was drowning! I tried to move but my whole body was useless. I saw another cat. A gray figure. He pulled me and onto the bank. Once my belly felt rocks he let me go and put his paw on my neck.

Hawkmark !!!!

"You should of never became a Medicine Cat!"

Blackness. Pure blackness.

I jolted awake to find Hawkclear looking at me. His confused gaze scared me but I just shook my head to tell him it was nothing important.

All the other cats were heading home so Hawkclear and I walked to the camp. Once we got there he went to Lionstar. I sat by the tree stump. Then Lionstar jumped on the High Ledge with Hawkclear by herside. I got up and moved to the clearing with other cats.

Lionstar looked at me with pride. "Hawkclear tells me that Swiftpaw has gotten her full name! Hawkclear." Lionstar stepped back and let Hawkclear speak "Swiftpaw has showed much progress. When she helped me with Cherrypelt's kitting I knew she was ready." I heard a low growl from Hawkmark in the back. Moonshine pawed his ear "Mouse-brain! Be happy!" She turned to look back at Hawkclear.

"Her full name is.... Swiftwind!" Hawkclear said getting on all fours. Every cat yelled my name to StarClan "Swiftwind! Swiftwind! Swiftwind! Swiftwind!"

I was so happy and I knew from right then that no matter what Hawkmark throws at me or even if he spats my full name he will not bring me down from what I was born to do!
