A pink Toyota Yaris parked next to me as I stopped at a red light. A blonde in the car suddenly spotted me and gasped in shock.
"Ew! Doesn't that girl have any dress sense?" she insulted with those oh-I’m-so-cool face.
I snorted and put my head out of the window.
"Yo Barbies! Where's Ken?" I laughed and rolled the window back up. But even though I couldn't hear what they were saying, I knew they were probably gushing on how stupid and ugly I was. Pfft, like I care.
I pulled up at Aronda High School's parking lot and peered out. It wasn't that bad. Nothing I haven't seen before though. It was a giant two storey building painted a dull blue while the window frames were white. A huge door was in the front of the school next to the reception. It was painted a maroon colour which I had to admit, it looks good. As I stepped out of the car, I saw the Barbies park their pink toy a few spaces away from me. They stepped out, acting like their models and flipped their hair.
A few girls looked at them enviously while a few boys drooled at them. How pathetic. They're not even that pretty!
Usually in stories, everyone looks at the new girl. But as for reality, no one seems to care. I admit that I did kind of wish for some attention but no, nothing at all.
I headed towards the entrance, knowing that this school would be under my grasp in seconds if I tried. But I decided to have some fun with them first. It'll be more entertaining this way. The lady at the reception was just as I expected. Old, kind and cheerful.
"Hello darling, you must be Kimora Johnson." she smiled politely.
"Kim." I nodded with the same smile.
I've always wondered how people who work at the reception knows EVERYTHING even if there was two hundred new students. They still seem to know who you are.
"Alright Kim, here is your schedule and a map of the school." she handed me a pink folder.
"Um excuse me," I asked as she went back to sorting through letters and files.
"Call me Mrs Juniever or Junie since most kids here call me that." she chuckled.
I stood there awkward. "Yeah um are there any other colours besides pink?"
She looked at the pink folder that I placed on the desk.
"Yes." she looked at me quizzically.
Man, she really can't guess?
"I'm wondering if I can change the colour. Because you see, I don’t exactly like pink." I bit my lip and smiled innocently.

"Hey, isn't that the freak we met at the road?" a blonde pointed at me.
"Oh my god Kasey, you're right!" another blonde gasped.
"Oh my, isn't she ugly?" a half brunette said.
They don't know the real me yet. My sister suggested that I go with a boring look. But when she said boring, I didn't think she meant real nerdy look. She dressed me with short pigtails and fake glasses. She even changed my eye colour with contact lenses, so now it's a dull green.
I wore navy converse (no one goes between me and my converse!) and baggy jeans. But not those really baggy ones. She chose a white long sleeve top with a navy grey short sleeve shirt on top. So I guess I did look pretty pathetic. I had those low bags that hung on your back and the good thing was, it was black. I looked so wrong though. The bad wrong, not dirty wrong.
