---------------------------------------------------------------------------

A sharp knock echoed into the lounge room where Violet, Lia, my sister; Alora (Lor) and I were having a pillow war. (Similar to pillow fight actually.) It took us by surprise that Violet fell off the couch, Lia screamed and Lor shrieked. Only I stood there holding my pillow up in the air like a samurai sword.

"Who the heck would knock at the door at this time?" Lor shrieked again. I bet she forgot about the prank we played.

Lia and Violet shared a secretive and evil grin while I smiled innocently and told everyone to shush.

I sauntered to the door and quickly brushed my hair with my made-do brush by my fingers.

The first thing I noticed when I opened the door was the rain pouring down from the almost black clouds. The second thing was a very wet and very annoyed Blaze.

"Why weren't you at the cinema?" he asked me.

Correctly, he shouted at me.

"Was I supposed to?" I asked him sweetly.

"Fuck yes!" he swore.

"Well that's just too bad." I replied with an angry huff and slammed the door shut.

I walked back to the lounge room, half mad and half happy that I got my revenge. Well revenge Number 1 anyway. My friends noticed my mixed emotions and walked towards me.

"You okay, Kim?" Violet was the first one to speak.

I nodded briefly and turned my attention onto Lor.

"He's a monster." I told her.

To my surprise, she sighed and sat on a couch. I thought she hated him and yet, she looked like she pitied him for a second.

“Not all the times.” She looked at me with sad eyes.

I sat next to her while Violet and Lia sat on the floor in front of us.

I knew what Lor was about to do.

“There was a day when he was the sweetest thing ever.” Story time…

I nodded and leaned back on the couch and gestured for her to continue.

“He opened doors for people; he held elders cross the road. He volunteered for many charities and that fundraiser stuff. But one day, he realised he did all that and nothing ever good happened to him. That’s when he decided to change…” she paused. “And so he did. He changed into a player. A heart breaker even.”

I looked at Lia for approvement but she was looking to the side. Clearly, she had something on her mind.

“Lia, what’s going on?” I asked her.

Shockingly, she started to cry. Violet took her into her arms and whispered soothing words. I couldn’t help but realise how vulnerably Lia was.

“I’m sorry.” She said softly, “It’s just that, I forgot when all that stuff happened. I only remembered him as a person with charm who always tried to get into girls.”

I nodded.

“But ever since he changed from a nice person to a horrible person, I had never thought about the past. It’s like they never happened.”

“He’s turned into a monster.” I sighed heavily.

Was the revenge the right thing to do? My sister and friend had already said how kind he was before he turned mean. Did he…
