I LAYED STILL, NOT DARING TO MOVE, AFRAID THAT EVEN THE SMALLEST SOUND COULD WAKE UP THE BOY SLEEPING ON THE FLOOR. After, well, everything that happened, Tewkesbury convinced me that we should stay at his apartment instead of mine. He's say that it was safer there, as he had sported a low profile since we reached London.

The room was indeed bigger than Enola's, walls painted a colour of beige and a pair of french windows that brightened up the whole room in the daytime. However there was only a twin sized bed, making it so one of us would have to sleep on the floor. And, of course, him being the gentleman he is insisted I took the bed.

At first I refused, claiming that he should be the one sleeping on the bed as this was his room. He'd disagree telling me that as a woman, it should be me sleeping on the bed. I reminded him that people are equal despite their gender and that's when my stubbornness started to show.

I'd lay on the floor straight up refusing to take the bed or at least accept the blankets he'd given me. Half an hour of me laying speechless on the floor and at least ten failed attempts to convince me to move on the bed the boy had finally had enough.

He'd pick me up in his arms as I tried to get away from him, demanding he let go. "Viscount Tewkesbury, Marques of the Basilwether Hall or whatever the hell your title is let me down this instant."

They boy chuckled as he carried me to the other side of the room where the bed was. I stopped trying to escape him as he pulled the blankets over me, tucking me in like a father would do for his daughter in her young years (or at least that's how I imagined he would do, seeing as I never knew my father). Instead I stared into his eyes and let myself get lost in them for a few mere seconds.

When I snapped out of the haze I seemed to be in I tried to get up, only for Tewkesbury to stop me. "You sleep on the bed tonight" he ordered, as if he had that power over me. I smiled mischievously and tried to get up again only to be stopped by the boy for a second time.

"Look, how about we make a deal? You sleep on the bed tonight and I will sleep on the floor and then tomorrow we switch" he offered, even though we both knew that he would break the deal the other day.

"Fine" I groaned as I leaned my head back on the pillow, too tired to keep the argument going. The boy smiled in victory as he set a few blankets on the floor, right next to the bed. Eventually we'd turn the gas lamp off, letting the darkness engulf us and lead us in a (hopefully) peaceful sleep.

It didn't take long for me to realise that in the silence, my thought became louder, thoughts I'd try to ignore all day.

But what I was mainly thinking about was Enola. I was concerned for her, as anyone would be if their friend was in a situation similar to hers. It wasn't about the boarding school, for I am sure she can handle that. It's more about her brother, Mycroft I believe his name was.

But she can handle him too.

Let's be honest.

I'm completely lost without her. I'm pretty sure I'd already be dead if it wasn't for her.

At first I though I could do just fine on my own. Then, after we started working together I realised that I couldn't possibly do any of this without her. I was such a fool for thinking even for one second that I could do such things alone in the first place.

In the past few days I'd realise how similar we both are. With both of our mothers missing and the temptation to find them, even if we knew it's dangerous. Possibly the most dangerous thing I'd ever come face to face with in my entire life.

And even though the original plan that consisted of finding our mothers was dropped a little while ago, we decided we'd help Tewkesbury find out who was trying to kill him.

And we need to do this together.

I need to get her out of this stupid school. And quickly.

I need a plan.

My thought were interrupted by a sign coming from the boy on the floor. "Tewkesbury" I called out, to which the boy only hummed in response. "Are you awake?"

There was a moment of silence before a quiet Yes was heard. As it seemed neither of us could fall asleep. "I thought you'd fallen asleep by now" he murmured. "Why are you still up?" he asked. "I can't sleep."

"Why? Is there something bothering you?" he asked, voice soft as he spoke as quietly as he could. "I'm just thinking."

"I'm really worried about Enola, you know" I continued. I heard the boy hum in agreement. No other words were shared, both of us too lost in our own train of thoughts to say anything else.

"We need to do something" he spoke again, breaking the silence. "We need a plan" I added. I could sense the boy sitting up and I reached for the lamp to turn it on.

"LET'S JUST HOPE IT WILL WORK." According to the clock on the wall it had been two hours, two hours of us discussing the perfect plan. "It will" the boy said leaning his head back against the wall.

"Come on. Tomorrow is gonna be a long day" I said getting up from my seat on the floor. Tewkesbury nodded, getting up too.

"I suppose we could both use some rest" the boy agreed as reached to turn off the gas lamp. "I don't know about you but I surely do. Goodnight Tweks."

"Night N/n" he said and I swear I could hear his smile.

This is more of a filler chapter, I really
think I could right that book better
I'm just not motivated enough to go
over all of it right now.
