Morning air crept in through Acoris' open window along with the sound of his brother's bickering. The bickering fell silent at the sound of a woman's voice and Acoris realised his Aunt must be there already. Begrudgingly, he opened his eyes and let the roof of his room come into view. It was early in the morning, the type of early where the sky is still dark and the dew is cold. He pulled himself out of bed and moved to his dresser with a swiftness. There is nothing like the shivers to persuade a person to get dressed. He pulled on a thick tunic and whatever pants were nearest to his hands when they found their way into the drawer. The pants were a sage green whilst the tunic was beige and it seemed as good an outfit as any in the eyes of Acoris.

He pulled on his good walking boots and looked around the room, still slow to register things so soon in the day. His eyes landed on the bag he'd packed for the journey and he scooped it onto his back. With everything in order he exited the room and weaved through the lively home.

"Acoris! Where are you going?"

Wren's large green eyes were full of curiosity as he clutched his cousin's shirt.

"I won't be gone long, listen to your mother."

Wren scrunched his brows at the response but ran off through the house regardless.

"Have a safe trip, honey."

Acoris nodded in his aunt's direction before dipping out of the house onto the sky bridges. For the most part, the city of Fallburne was still fast asleep. Save for the markets, which were open from dawn till dusk and bustling for any positive opportunities they could grasp. Acoris opted to go the backway to Amra's house to avoid as many questions as he could.

Unlike Amra, Acoris never knocked to announce his presence and bustled into her home with no warning. He found her in the feeding room above a small table with the map spread out before her and her things on the floor just beside her. He moved around her and found a water basin before filling it with her well-water and sipping from it. After his thirst was relieved, he took a seat on the opposite side from Amra at the small table.

"What direction are we headed?"

"Northeast."

Amra hadn't looked up from the map and had taken a quill to parts of it, leaving notes here and there about things Acoris was sure he couldn't be bothered with.

"Alright. Let's be off before anyone has the good mind to question where we're going."

Amra nodded and tucked the map into her bags, before picking them up.

"Did you fill your waterskin pouch?"

Acoris nodded.

"Then why take my water?"

"Well it doesn't make sense to draw from resources we'll need for the trip."

Amra rolled her eyes and started to exit the house. Acoris followed.
