College was a distant memory.

George was sure he had already failed at least half of his classes, but to be honest it was probably all of them. He had already had low grades when he stopped going to school a couple weeks ago, but he couldn't risk his parents finding him. Sapnap was being super generous with letting him stay at his house and George wasn't about to inconvenience him with all his family issues.

He just really missed Dream.

He missed the warm cuddles they shared late at night in bed and he missed the flirty banter they had. He missed Dream's smile, his hair, his freckles.

George groaned and ran a hand down his face. He really needed to get his act together and stop acting like a lovesick puppy.

Sapnap looked up from across the table from his phone, "You good dude?"

George nodded, staring into space. "I was just thinking. I hate being a burden and I was wondering if maybe I could get another job to help pay for my stay here? I wouldn't mind the cost."

Sapnap shook his head, "No way. Come on! You're my friend! I don't care about the expenses. I mean, if you want to get a job, then get one. But only for yourself."

"But—"

"No buts. LA LA LA LA LA, I can't hear you!" Sapnap sang, covering his ears with his hand and closing his eyes.

George rolled his eyes at him, smiling fondly. "FINE. Whatever." He huffed a laugh.

Sapnap dropped his hands and went right back to scrolling on his phone, completely unphased by his antics.

"Have you spoken with Dream any yet?" He said after a few minutes.

George closed his eyes. "No. I keep meaning to, but I never know what to say. I feel awkward."

"Come on man, he's your boyfriend for pity's sake! Give him a chance."

"I know! I know. Call me insensitive, I get it. What would you do!?" George accused.

"Fuck him." Sapnap smirked.

George dropped his jaw, reaching over to smack Sapnap's arm.

Sapnap laughed, shielding himself from the onslaught, "Whaaaaat? I would!! If he was my boyfriend. That's all I'm saying! But he's not, so there."

George squinted at him in answer.

Sapnap looked innocently back.

"Fine." George said after a moment.

Now it was Sapnap's turn to drop his jaw. "What?!? You'll fuck him!?!?" He asked, shocked that George had agreed so easily.

George did an embarrassed double take, "NO, no! Of course not! Ew you horny bastard! I mean, fine, I'll talk to him."

Sapnap almost looked disappointed. "Boring." He drawled and stuck his feet on the table to continue scrolling insta.

George took this as his cue and stood. "I'll be in my room if you need me." And with a nod from Sapnap, George left the table to go to his bedroom.

His bedroom was located upstairs where he was abnormally heated from the warm, humid Floridian air that rose but he didn't mind all that much. He had a room at least. Even though his room was a guest bedroom that looked like it hadn't been cleaned in decades. When he had first arrived, the whole top sheet of his bed had been covered in a thick layer of dust.

Now, his bedroom had been dusted and swept and the sheets washed—all George's doing— and knowing he had a clean bed to sit on, George flopped upon it.

His fan was running above him at highest speed but it felt like it barely lifted a hair on his head. He groaned and turned over to face the ceiling.

What to say to Dream.

He pulled out his phone and opened his messages, staring at Dream's contact picture. He had changed the boring default to a selfie he had taken with an unassuming, sleeping Dream. He had caught one quick moment before his boyfriend had woken up and stole a pic.

He smiled at Dream's cute bed head before remembering what he was there for. He typed a letter but almost immediately deleted it.

What to say.

HOW to say.

"How was the chipotle?" No. "How have you been without me?" double no."Do you still love me?

George wanted to scream. He was so awkward at starting up a conversation. He never knew the right thing to say or even if he did the right way to say it.

Finally, George knew what he had to do.

Dream wasn't at his house. George had knocked and called out to him a hundred times but there was no answer. He frowned. Where could he have gone?

George almost went to text him again before deciding to just try again tomorrow. He sighed and got back into Sapnap's car that he had borrowed—with permission— and sat in the seat for a moment.

There was nothing more to do, George reversed out of the driveway and onto the road into town. He was going to turn at the stoplight to head back when he noticed a very familiar car at a random restaurant across the street. Without thinking twice, George drove over and parked next to it. He double checked the car to make sure his suspicions were correct and was surprised that they were.

The bell on the door dinged behind him as George entered the restaurant and scanned the booths for a familiar head of hair. It didn't take long for him to see Dream's tall figure sat at a back booth, tucked nicely out of sight and George smiled. He went to walk over but another person sat next to Dream made him freeze in place.

Dream suddenly looked up and spotted George. His eyes widened and he looked between the person before him and then at George, unsure who to leave and unsure who to go to.

George didn't wait. He spun on his heel and walked out of the building furiously. Dream was a shallow, no good, snobby, rich guy who played around with people's feelings for the fun of it. No wonder Riley had dumped him all those months ago! How could he not see it?

The bell jingled behind him and George sped up.

"George!"

"Fuck off!" George responded and flipped Dream behind him. He slammed Sapnap's car door shut behind him and locked the doors instantaneously. Dream's hands landed on the handle not a moment later.

"George! Please! Let me explain!"

"I don't want to hear it, Dream!" George said. It was taking everything in him to not burst out into tears. The first time he had seen Dream in weeks and he had already moved on. The engine roared to life before him.

"But it's not what it looks like!" Dream pleaded. His eyes looked so genuine. "Riley and I aren't a thing. I wasn't cheating on you! Come out and let me explain!"

"I've seen fucking plenty! I'll see you never!" George reversed out of the parking spot and rolled down his window.

Dream looked at him hopefully from a few yards away.

"We're done. Screw you."

And with that, George drove away. Sapnap's absurdly loud muffler blasting from behind him and leaving Dream in pieces behind him.

George was done with relationships.

Forever.
