My frustrating state of mind was unable to concentrate. It's been hours I had stared at the wall in front of me.
I discovered myself in the office, out of my department. The office was always buzzing with my family members rushing back and forth. The fluorescent light reflected off the fine marbles, a glow that lit up the office.

I leaned against the desk staring again at the board covered with maps, photographs, and strings of linked subjects. Despite the team of detectives, hired by me, their best efforts were still failing in collecting evidence against him.

i had spent hours researching untill I was mentally and physically worn out.
I couldn't help but think about those 2 years of my life I had given him, amidst the exhaustion.

I was met with a scowling Veer as he entered the office, he buttoned his shirt , reeking off sex.

"How was Vicky?" With an unmistakable appearance of eagerness, I mocked and his scowl intensified.

"You could have at least told me her real name!" He picked a cushion and shoved it at me , which I professionally dodged. "How humiliating was it for her that she pleasured me all night , and I kept asking her to go on while moaning someone else's name!?"

I felt proud on his reaction. "I played you good , didn't i?" The conversation averting my mood from the investigation.

"Jo bhi ho! I am just glad I had a good sex." He whispered in a hushed voice.
" I'm never giving you the duty of hooking me up ever again."

"Oh! I'm not that bad at hooking you up!" I disagreed immediately, frowning.
"Aur jahan tak mujhe yaad hai I was the one who saved your sexual drought every fucking time." My mischievous smile could put Satan to shame.

"Haan! Kaise bhool sakta hun! You were the one who hooked me up with gays , someone's else girlfriend, a minor , Alex's grandma, and now a girl whose name I had been told wrong." His nostrils flared, voice with a hint of irritation.

"Veer," Alex let out a sigh carrying of tiredness and distress as he stopped filing out his documents. "she was my aunt around ninety five or six I guess."

"Ya , now she's no more.." Aishwarya typed away on her computer. Her eyes showing she needed a break from this dull environment.

"Oh," Veer made a face realizing it . "Rest in peace."

The long silence was punctuated by the loud sound of footsteps from the hall, and I snapped my head to the entrance. Armaan was dressed up in a suit, he had a reputation of being the most loyal to Dev.

He looked at the wall covered with crime scene photographs. "Any evidence?"

I sighed with dissatisfaction, pressing a pad of my fingers rubbing the bridge of my nose. "Nothing." My thoughts turned into a war zone once again. Tinge of harm had left me longing for answers. "How are you?" I asked him, the vengeance increased the weight of uncertainty bore upon me.

"We have a problem." He said in his professional tone, glancing at the files under his arms.

Aishwarya and I shared a look. "Let me guess you caused it?" A chuckle fell out of my mouth, as he squinted his eyes .

"No, but I have an idiot which keeps getting into one."

I knew I was the idiot. "Tumhe bulawa aaya hai, Amara. Nischay showed up around our office, just a few minutes before, caught on our security camera."

My mood went sour at the mention of him. What the fuck does he wants?

"Kaafi nihaayati bewkoof aadmi hai woh." Veer spoke, flipping through the magazine pages.
