Fluff and a lil angst

Nancy's drinking coffee, reading a book that Robin can't remember the name of. She's just- sitting, on the couch, the only light sources coming from the shitty lamp Robin found at a garage sale and the tv playing mindless news. It's a normal night, their schedules finally lined up that they have their day off's on the same day. They don't like doing anything big on their day off's, no sappy dates or outings. Nancy's usually too tired to do any of that and Robin gets overwhelmed easily, so it's a win-win.

Once again, it's a normal night. Just normal, nothing extraordinary. Robin's routine hasn't changed (she would've definitely noticed if it did.) Nancy's didn't change either.

But, holy shit.

Robin is so in love with her.

They've been together for nearly 5 years and Robin's been waking up next to her for 3 and fuck, fuck, fuck. Robin falls in love with her more and more every single day.

Robin doesn't know why, or what the hell came over her, but she just blurts it out- like it's a casual question like: "Hey! Do you want toast for breakfast?" And god she wishes she had cool superpowers like Eleven so she could turn back time, because now Nancy's giving her a look and fuck.

"What was that?"

"Marry me." Idiot. "Please?" Absolute dingus with a capital D.

And Nancy smiles, a pretty and disorienting smile that Robin always gets when she's being an extra idiot. Which she is- like right now.

"Robin." Her smile has fallen and she's put on a faux serious look.

She smiles like a total dope at the way Nancy says her name. "Yes?" Acting all innocent as if she didn't drop a major bomb on Nancy.

Nancy smiles back, of course, she does. She always does, but it's- shit. Robin knows that smile, she doesn't see it that often, but she knows it all too well. She knows she's fully fucked up and she's planning and revising an apology and before she could get a word out, Nancy speaks.

"You know we can't, Rob."

God, damn it. Stupid homophobia, stupid laws, stupid fucking- God .

Robin knows. She knows, she knows, she knows. It's not her fault she forgets. Forgets the fact they actually can't get married, forgets because she keeps forgetting that the love between her and this beautiful, genius and amazing woman in front of her is "dirty," "disgusting," and "goes against God."

Robin knows, but she decides she couldn't give two shits about it.

"Say yes, anyway?"

Nancy rolls her eyes, but it's affectionate and it says 'My girlfriend is stubborn but I love her anyway.' She stands up, leaves her coffee and book on the table and walks over to the kitchen where Robin is.
