"Phoebe!" My best friend Lorelei greets from behind the counter.

I have known Lorelei since we both were in diapers. We both are turning twenty three this year. She owns the busiest yet smallest country diner in town. This diner has been around for over sixty years. Her grandparents opened it up over sixty years ago. They died when she was eighteen and left this diner to her along with their three story farmhouse.

I'm a crime scene specialist, however, two nights a week I waitress here and three times a week I teach dance to children. Monday through Friday I do my full time job. Five in the morning until five in the evening. Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays; I teach dance to children from six in the evening until eight. It's just two hour classes. Tuesdays and Thursdays I'm here at this diner from six in the evening until closing time; which is ten at night. Weekends are usually my off days unless I get called in. That however happens rarely to nonexistent. Tonight is Tuesday which means I'm working at the diner.

"Phoebs. You have your usual section." Lorelei tells me.

"On it." I reply while hooking my waitress apron on.

As I round the cashier register to head to table two to wipe it down from the previous customers; the bell chimes. Meaning someone has entered the diner. As I look up to greet the customer, my mind fogs over and my brain goes to mush. I am staring into the most beautiful deep blue eyes with light grey flecks in them.

Standing in the entrance is Grayson and his three five year old daughters Avery, Oakleigh, and Sydney. Avery has his left hand, Sydney has his right hand, and Oakleigh is on his back like a koala bear.

"Good evening Grayson and the three most beautiful little angels." Lorelei's says just inches away me.

"LorLor!" The girls squeals. The squealing from Oakleigh makes Grayson wince. I can understand because that girl has some powerful lungs and high pitch squeals.

"If you'll head to Table Seven, Phoebe can take your orders." Lorelei tells them. As soon as my name left her lips the girls finally notice me.

"Phoebes!" Avery yells with her powerful lungs.

Before anyone could blink; Sydney lets go of her father's hand and plows right into my legs. Grayson has a scowl on his face and has his hands firmly around Avery's little hand and the other is keeping Oakleigh in place on his back. I gently grab ahold of Sydney's hand once she has detached from my legs. I guide her with her father and two sisters trailing behind us to their table. Sydney scoots into the booth's seat. Avery follows behind. Grayson slides Oakleigh off his back and she climbs up beside her sisters. Grayson slips in beside Oakleigh.

This is something he's always done since they have been able to eat at any table. All three girls always get the inside and he always sits on the outside. Always leaving the second booth seat empty.
