The ball room in Trikru was overflowing with loud joyful laughter, lighthearted whispers between people and happy music. Everyone wore the best clothes thex could find, women in ther bright colurfull dresses, with perfect make-up and expensive jewellery, with radiant smiles ready to dance their way into the Princesses attention.Men in their black, blue or gray suits, shiny black leather boots with the tinniest amount of hope, that wasn't already destroyed by the open secret about their Princesses preferences. It was a ball to the 3 balls that that their king organazed for their Princesses 18th birthday, so everyone who "meant something", was celebrating, drinking and having fun. Luckily, homosexual relationships and mariiages were perfectly normal for about a 100 years now, so that wasn't really a problem anymore.
Lexa's green eyes were focussed entirely on the carmine red wine in her crystal-clear glass, that she took a while earlier from one of the servants in the ball room, While she stood outside of the ball room, on the main balcony. The wind was playing with the edge of her light green dress, long brown hair loosely dropped on her shoulders and all of the expensive and rare jewellery that she was obliged to wear was brightly shining in the moonlight.
Even though her expression was mostly neutral like it should be, because other people could unfortunately still see her from the ball room, the Princess was fuming with mix of rage, sadness and hopelessness inside, while she desperately tried not to crush the glass that she was holding in her right hand. That was also why she loved to go here, when she was forced to attend one of these balls (which was ironic, because most of them were organazed for her by her father, like this one for her 18th birthday.) She felt like the silence here was the only calm and peacefull thing in her life. No women with their desperate attempts to flirt with her, men who can't take no for an anwer, not even her father with another one of his unending lectures.
Argument's with her father, 'their beloved and worshipped King Titus kom Trikru', could always get the best of her. Today, she received his reccurent lesson that 'Love is weakness that the royals can't afford, especially you, because you are the only future of this kingdom, Alexandria. And you always have to put your people before you.'
Lexa agreed, of course. She knew that her life was (and never would be) really her's. She will never get married to someone out of love, but out of political reasons. That her people are the most important thing and she would sacrifise her own body, mind and future, all that she have to them. And she was fine with it, even when it was hard sometimes, really.
But it still hurts to hear this from her own father, the man who should support her, the one who should always love her no matter what, without any terms or conditions. Her only family that she had, after her mothers early death.
The Princess slightly sighted and raised her gaze to the night sky. Today was a full moon and the stars were shining more than any expensive jewellery anyone could ever make, without any clouds blocking their way. She slowly rised her glass to the dark sky, with the red whine, that was still in it, and her expression changed to on her little rare sad smiles, before she took a small sip out of the glass.
But before she could say something that was on her mind, the sound of steps echoed somewhere on the floor behind her on the balcony, and the expression on her face turned to something between annoyance and anger.
"Really, Cos? I already told you, that I don't want to talk with you, why can't you just respect this one fucking thing and leave me alone?" She hissed with sharp voice, absolutely shure that was her best and only friend, who disturbed her, but didn't turn to face to the person behind her.
"Do I really want that much? A few seconds of silence and god damn peace in this devil hole-" Her voice was cut of when a hand ligtly touched her shoulder, the person had to get closer to her somehow while she talked, and the Princesses body completely froze, when the powerfull but also delicate scent of waterlilies and vanilla hit her with full force.
Lexa's pupils slightly extended while she hurriedly took a step back, from the touch and shook the strangers hand of her shoulder. "Who the fuck do you think you are-" The words stopped when she finally looked at the person, that touched her, and her mind went completely blank, the words longely forgotten.
Then the emerald green met with the celestial blue and everything seemed alright for a second.
