The royal balls were an ideal, and one of the only, opportunities to speak with the Princess freely, for many people it was also a one time chance, that would probably never happen again. So it wasn't really a big surprise, when Lexa found herself surrounded by three Trikru's political partners and in some sort of very boring converstation, that she really didn't listen to or have any intention to join.
Lexa's mind was absolutely elsewhere what seemed like the last few hours, on the mysterious blonde with gorgeous blue eyes, that she met last night. The woman, that promised to come again tonight and still didn't. Maybe she won't come at all, it was already midnight, the ball started around eight in the evening, and she still wasn't there like she promised she would be..
Maybe she was just reading to much into it and last night didn't mean anything for the blonde. Maybe she just imagined it all, but that couldn't be, it felt too real. Maybe the blonde decided that Lexa wasn't worth the trouble, or something bad happened to her, or she didn't intend to come back, ever. Maybe she-
The brunnete's panicked thoughts were cut off, when she felt that someone lightly touched her wrist. She was so lost in her head that she didn't even noticed when her first lady, and best friend, came next to her and joined their converstation.
"I'm so sorry, my lords." Costia's smile was charming as ever, while she crank up her best sweet and loving tone, the one that she used everytime when she had to talk with the politicians or ambasadors, that one that fooled everyone who didn't really know her.
"But I need to borrow my Princess for a little while. It's very serious matter, that unfortunately can't wait any longer." The woman connected her gaze with the Princess for a second, if she could be grinning right now, she definitely would have.
"Excuse us, thank you all for your time." Everyone slightly bowed to the Princess after her words and false smile.
The princess turned around and let her friend lead the way. Her heart was beating a little bit faster than it was a few seconds ago. The feeling in her chest could only be described as hope.
"Please tell me, that you didn't call me to have another converstation with my father or something like that." After her words the Princess could hear companion quietly chuckle.
"Is it really...?"
"It's her. And she is waiting for you, so hurry up and don't make her wait any longer."

The room seemed almost empty, if you didn't look at the bed. It was one of the many spare room's in the tower, that fortunately for them wasn't guarded at all like the other rooms and Lexa's chambers were.
Costia looked around the hallway one more time, just to really reafirm herself that no one was really there or that someone wasn't following them, before she opened the old wooden door with a squeak, just enough so that her friend could get in.
"I will take a guard and if someone come, I will let you two know in time. But your time is limited, you still need to come back to the ball after all, at least for a little while." Costia smiled apologetically at her friend, before she continoud talking quietly again.
"And don't forget that I'm righ here and this door isn't really sound proof! So, don't do anything I wouldn't do. But now stop hesitating and go get your girl already." The Princess rolled her eyes at her companion with a slight blush on her cheeks, before she finally entered the room and heard the door slowly close, this time more silently behind her.

"Why do you look so surprised. Did you really think, that I would just stood you up like that?" The blonde couldn't help herself and smiled, when she noticed that the brunnete finally came into the room. She was sitting on the spare bad, her light blue dress perfectly contrasted with her eyes and her hair was just loosed with one braid on the right side. The blonde looked like she was dressing in a hurry, not that she looked any less georges than she did yesterday.
"Of course not! I would never think that a-about you." Lexa hurried to say, slightly scared and her cheeks flushed in embarrassment, that she would somehow offend the woman in front of her. She didn't know if she could aproach her or wait for the blonde to do it. Nobody ever lectured her what to do in this type of situation, probably because nobody ever guesed that she would be in one, not even herself.
"You're so cute, you know that?" Clarke smile got even bigger, ammusement playing in her eyes. She was very much enjoying the Princesses rambeling. Her voice was rather playfull, maybe because of the few glasses of the red wine that she drank before.
"Come here, I don't bite. If you don't want me to." The blonde smirked when Lexa flushed even more, the blush now covering her cheeks in blood red, and came to the bed with unsure steps.
Her right arm cought the brunnete's wrist when she was finally close enough and with one fast move, the Princess was falling on the bed with Clarke. Her grasp was still very carefull, so that she wouldn't hurt the brunnete.
"So, Princess. How would you like to use our time together?" The blonde adjusted herself, so that she was lying comfortably on her left side, facing the brunnete. Her left hand was supporting her head, while she observed the still flashed brunnete with a slight smirk on her face, the brunnete's eyes pupils were extended, other than that she was literally lying flat on her back, entire body frozen and seemed too nervous to even breath.
