The two of them were in silence for a long while, but it wasn't uncomfortable. There was no need to fulfil the silence, like it there always was with other people. This silence was comfortable, it felt like they didn't need words to communicate with each other, like they can just be themselves, without any masks, false smiles or untrue words. .

People in the ball room were still celebrating, drinking, dancing and happily laughing with their partners. Nobody seemed to notice the Princesse's absence, or that the mysterious blonde wasn't with them anymore.

Clarke did come to the ball with someone, right? Why would someone like her be there alone? Wasn't her partner looking for her? All of these thoughts and many others were flowing in the brunnete's head, while she slightly turned her gaze back to the blonde.

It made sense, that she never saw Clarke at any of the previous balls before. Arkadia was too far away and their relationship with Trikru was absolutely horrible at least. They were enemies long ago before Lexa was even born and not many Arkadian's ever set foot at the Tkrikru territory.

Arkadia has more developed technology than anyone else, including medical equipment and weapons. Their past was a little bit of a mystery for everyone, some people belive that their ancestors were from The Mountain and escaped. Other say, that they were refugees from the Ice Nation.

The Royal familly, Chancelor Thelonius Jaha and his son Wels were murdered in cold blood few years ago, Chancelor's wife died shortly after Wels was born, while Arkadia was in war with The Mountain. That was also when Wanheda appeared, it was almost like she fell from the space. Nobody knew anything about her, no familly, no past and no real name.

She achieved something that no one could before her and destroyed The Mountain completely. Not only did she destroyed them, she killed everyone that was in there without any hesitation, more then 300 people including kids, and freed all of Arkadia's people, that were imprisoned and probably tortured there for years while the Royals didn't do anything about it.

That's also how she got her 'name', Wanheda means Commander of death in Trideslang. She became the leader of Arkadia not so long after that, feared but also admired by all, even to this day everything about her is still very much a mystery for everyone. Wanheda was never seen without her signature mask on, never said her real name or from where she came from.

The pretty much only known thing about her was her carmine red hair, that she colored with dye every month. While the rumors said, that she dyed her hair with blood, Lexa knew that it was Trikru dye... or at least she hoped so.

The blond's soft voice got Lexa finnaly out of her head a little while later.

"So tell me, Princess..." Clarke finally turned her soft gaze from the moon to look at the brunnete that was standing next to her with little sparks in her blue eyes.

"Do you like to dance?" The blonde lightly smiled at the Princess, who looked a little shocked at her words and averted her gaze for a moment, like she was not able to look at the blond in that moment, but she recovered quite fast and turned her gaze back to her companion.

"That depends..." The brunnete said with a false thoughtful expression, while she tried to hold back her smile. "On who I dance with." Green eyes were looking at the Blonde with a mix of playfulness, curiousness and maybe... just maybe a little bit of hope.

"Would you like to dance with me?"

The ball room fell in complete silence, no more laughter or quiet whispers could be heard between partners anymore, even all of the music stopped playing. It was like a scene from some other reality, everyone was too schocked to react or to continue with whatever they were doing just few seconds earlier.

All of them was looking in absolute shock at their Princess, who almost never joined them at the dance, except for her speech at the start and end of every ball.
But that wasn't the most strange thing, the Princess was walking with a stranger beside her, who most centarnely wasn't one of the Royals or one of their political partners.

The strange woman was holding their Princesse's hand and was sweetly smilling at the brunnete, most of them never saw someone who would even dare to think about touching their Princess in any way outside of political greetings. Even her father barely touched her in public. The Trikru was very closed with everything intimate in public, even between partners and especially when one of them was the Princess. Even the most innocent touches were practicaly forbidden by a uspoken law.

"What are all you waiting for? Play!" Lexa's voice cut the silence in the room, her soft voice turned into almost authoritative that didn't left any room for objections, while she smiled at the blonde and approached the centre of the ballroom with her.

The music started playing again almost immediately after her words. Nobody dared to disturb the pair, or start to dance again with them. Everyone was just looking, still shocked at what just happened, they even created a circle of space for the pair and gathered around them.

Both of them took a step back from eachother and offered a little curtsy to each other with light smiles, before they joined again and locked hands together.

When they started dancing, it felt like the world around them faded. Nobody or nothing else mattered now, it was just the two of them in their own universe.

Neither of them heared the whispers and questions between people, about who this blonde stranger was and why was she dancing with their Princess or reacted to their lookes, or rather jealous, angry and courious glares towards Clarke.

They danced, and laughed without worrying about what others thought of them. For the first time in their life, they were free, even if it was just for this single moment.
