Chapter 19

REID'S POV

I call up the number and wait for her to pick up "Hey JJ what's up"

"Emily it's Spencer I knew you wouldn't pick up if it was my phone so I borrowed JJ's" when she spoke up I heard a collective gasp and the shocked look on everyone's face as they realised that 1. It was Emily I called and 2. She didn't seem at all surprised to hear from me "Spencer you aren't supposed to call me for another 3 days unless it is an emergency"

"This is an emergency" it was quite for 20 seconds until she realised who's phone I was on "What happened and how do you have JJ's phone" at this point JJ decided to speak up "He stole it from me"

"I didn't steal I borrowed and right now that is not important, I didn't hear the message that you left but I was told that you didn't get any record for Matthew Donaldson"

"Uh no I didn't I don't have the computer expertise to unseal records or to recover deleted data" there was a pause before she spoke up again "Spencer take me off speaker" I did and put the phone up to my ear "Yeah"

"What is going on Spencer I thought you said that you weren't going to involve the team"

"It wasn't by choice"

"Then how?"

"Listen I will explain everything later but right now we are in a lot of trouble I've not been back In almost 2 days"

"Are you nuts why not?"

"I was shot and arrested"

"Of course well you can't go back they will either kill you or beat you within an inch of your life" he heard a small gasp behind him so he turned around and saw it was JJ I then realised that they were all listening in on the earpieces "Listen I'm coming back to the states and Spencer let them help you"

"Yeah Alright" I was about to hang up when she said "Wait put me on with Hotch" I sighed and handed the phone off to Hotch

HOTCH'S POV

We had been listening in to the conversation and he only noticed when JJ gasped but I can't blame her they were talking about his life as if it were nothing after another minute or so he handed the phone over to me and began to talk "Listen Hotch I know this is really strange and I promise that I will explain everything when I get there but right now I'm going to e-mail everything I have over to Garcia there is a list of names in there that I need her to do background on you will need to convince him yourself to get his data to Garcia"

"You don't know everything?"

"He only told me as much as needed, Hotch he is trying to take down this organisation by himself"

"What organisation?"

"He hasn't told you anything has he"

"No he was in an interrogation room and said he would only say anything if we were in the apartment" she sighed "Of course he did"

"Emily what do you mean"

"Where is he"

"What?"

"Right now where is he"

"He is right...." I looked up and saw that he was gone I looked to Blake who had been standing next to him and she looked just as confused "Where did he go?"

"He snuck out while you were distracted"

"Why?"

"I honestly have no idea he just tends to do that its really annoying"

"Wait you have seen him in person"

"Um yeah I have been over to the states a couple times to see him but I have never been into the apartment he insisted on meeting somewhere else. But anytime I saw him I always saw you guys as well"

"Then why didn't you tell us" JJ sounded hurt as she said this Emily signed but explained "Because I couldn't if I did he would cut off contact with me as well and I needed to keep an eye on him, he likes to think he has become stronger but he has really just become better at hiding it honestly guys he needs you he just doesn't want to admit it whenever I ask him he tells me that he wants to keep you guys safe" no one says anything because no one can even think of what a reasonable response could be finally breaking the silence I speak again "Emily just get hear as fast as you can"
