Chapter 20

HOTCH'S POV

Morgan and Blake have gone out in search of Spencer again while the rest of us are still sifting though all the information he has "Alright what have we got" it's Dave that speaks up "Well this seems like a massive organisation I mean connections all over the country"

"What are they doing?"

"From what I can tell it looks like a terrorist organisation hell bent on bringing down the government"

"Well what did they want with Reid?"

"I have no idea he has not written anywhere how he plays into all of this"

"Alright so we know that a terrorist organisation kidnapped Reid 5 years ago and Prentiss told us that he got in contact with her 3 years ago apparently he has been asking her to look into people and refuses to tell her where the names come from he is very secretive and has managed to become almost immune to pain which means that he can blend into crowds when injured.." he was cut off by JJ "If he was shot just yesterday then he should be in a lot of pain and according to Spence told him in a cryptic way that he can feel the pain but not show it , so that means he is still in a lot of pain" everyone just stared at her so she continued "Well if he is in pain even if can fake being fine he won't be able to do it for long so he can't go very far"

BLAKE'S POV

I was walking down an alleyway looking for Spencer, Morgan was going down another alley so I was on my own I hear a noise behind he so turn raising my gun to find nothing there "You know you were wrong" I turn around quickly to see Spencer sitting on the fire escape of the building to the right of me, I go to tell Morgan though my earpiece only to find it gone he holds it up in his hand I glare at him "Can I have my earpiece back" he looks at the device in his hands "Are you going to contact Morgan"

"No I won't if you give me it back" I know that we are never meant to lie but I think that is special circumstances he inspects the device again "Ok I know that we don't know each other very well Alex but there is one thing that you need to know about me"

"What?"

"I know when someone is lying" he then proceeded to stand up on the fire escape putting the earpiece down in the process then stamp on it breaking it completely I just stare up at him in shock he then sits back down and looks back at me like he has done nothing after the shock of what he just did subsides I remember what he said first "What do you mean I was wrong?"

"I mean that I did contact the team while I was away" immediately forgetting I was meant to be bringing him back as curiosity took over me he groaned in pain before speaking again "I helped out with some cases" now I was just plain confused I think he saw the confusion on my face so he continued "If I had some information that would help with a case like part of a profile you guys missed I would phone one of you up with a voice manipulator and give you it even if you didn't trust me I planted the idea and I saw you use some of my information" I began to think and I remember cases when one of the team would say they were phoned with information have Garcia try and trace the call it would fail and then add the information to the profile realising it was true but we always just assumed it was an UNSUB trying to take credit before I could say anything he continued "I also faked loads of sales calls they were really annoyed when they spoke opt me but I still got to hear there voices" He smiled the first genuine smile I think I had seen the entire time I had seen him, he was sitting there smiling so I spoke up again "You know you seem like a nice guy who cares about the team very much I had a very different impression of you" he looked at me and smirked "Well that would be because we got off on the wrong foot, I mean the first time I saw you in person I punched you in the face then shot myself in the shoulder" he jumped down onto a dumpster then onto the ground in front of me then stuck out his hand "Hi my name is Spencer" I took his hand, smiled at him and said "Hello my name is Alex" he smiled back then started to walk down the alley I catch up to him "Where are you going" he just smiled at me again "Back to the apartment" I look at him shocked again "Then why did you break my earpiece"

"Like I said I know when someone is lying and you lied to me you would have contacted Morgan"

"But if you were going to come back then what would have been the harm in me calling Morgan"

"There would have been no problem I just don't like being lied to" we walked in silence for another 2 minutes then another question came to my mind "If you were just going to come back with me with no attempt to fight back then why did you leave in the first place" he pulled out a bag from his pocket "I needed more coffee and I knew you wouldn't let me go out" I laughed a genuine as he said this just then I realise Morgan is still looking for him out there I reach into my pocket for my phone to find it gone I then look to Spencer who proceeds to reach into his own and hand me my own phone stating that I could of used it to contact someone when we were talking so I just accept the phone and call Morgan.
