The Other Reid

Chapter 23

MORGAN'S POV

We've been stuck in this apartment for around 10 minutes and I am already going out of my mind we have no idea what is going on or where Reid and the team are and I can't move anywhere because of the handcuffs on my wrists Blake has been trying to get them off but it just doesn't seem to be working "Nothing seems to be working but I can't really pick a lock"

"Well what are we going to do we can't just sit here and wait for them to get back we need to find them" Blake was about to speak up again when someone came bursting through the front door we both instinctively reach for our guns and aim at whoever this person is "Whoa its ok I'm just here to take the handcuffs off and lead you to the warehouse"

"What?" she takes something out of her pocket and flips it open "My name is Agent Sarah Hardwood and I have been working undercover in the place Agent Reid was kept we have been working on shutting it down but it seems the plans have been accelerated right now Reid is at the warehouse trying to keep Dylan distracted for as long as he can but he is running out of time he gave me the keys to the SUV and the handcuff key" we both lowered our guns seeing the badge but I was still on edge as she approached me and undid the handcuffs "Ok we really need to get out of here now if we want to be there for the arrest" and she ran out of the room "Should we go with her? Blake asked looking at the door she just exited the room from "She looked legit" and with that we both ran out the room after her

JJ'S POV

Everyone on the team instinctively cried out and flinched at the gun shot, but Reid, Dylan and the rest of the men surrounding us stayed perfectly still I look over to Hotch with tears in my eyes and visibly gasp when I see him sitting there with shock on his face and this seemed to have registered with everyone else at this moment as well as all the men looked in shock that Hotch was unharmed and Dylan cried out "What the hell" Alistair tried firing again and the same thing happen the bang would go off but nothing would happen to Hotch I look over to Reid who is still standing there gun aimed at Dylan but now he has a smirk on his face "Like I said you always accept victory before the battle is won even when we were younger you could never stop to believe that you could lose"

"What did you do?" Dylan was furious but didn't move as he still had Reid's gun pointed at him "When was the last time you used those guns? Because it's not been in a while so I decided it would be fun to exchange all the bullets for blanks and see your face when one of your men tried to fire them and trust me it was worth it, to see the exact look you used to wear when I beat you at chess, when I finished my school work before you, whenever I did something better than you the look of amazement that someone can do something better than you when you realise that your brother is better than you"

"Your not my brother and you are not better than me, we may have the same parents, the same DNA but you were never a brother to me, I was never apart of the family especially after dad left because mum even when she was having an episode would always love you more, always pay more attention to you, never me" everyone in the room was staring at the two in shock nobody in the room had any idea of the connection these two had breaking the silence Reid spoke up again "Now I am going to ask again Option one is I go with you and your thugs out of hear you walk free but let my team and the techs walk free or option two your thugs are arrested you die and my team and the techs walk free" Dylan chuckles before speaking "Spencer have you looked around you we may have no guns but you are still outnumber ou will be taken down before one shot can be fired out of that gun"

"Still underestimating me have you learned nothing" and when he said that doors were being kicked in and SWAT was entering the room from all sides and coming in just behind them was Emily, Morgan and Blake all wearing FBI vests coming in beside them was a women I didn't recognise but from the outburst from Dylan I assume he does "What the hell" the SWAT agents were either taking one of the people sitting at the desks out or arresting one of the men Dylan yelled at the woman again "What the hell Sarah you turned on me" "No Dylan I didn't I have always worked for the FBI your just to self-absorbed to see it" he was about to talk back when Spence interrupted them "Sarah get the team and SWAT out of here I'm just behind you with Dylan" She nodded to him and started undoing the rope tying us to the chair almost all the SWAT officers had left at this point. When everyone was untied and making their way towards the exit I could see Reid behind us bringing Dylan. We were all out of the building when the door slammed behind us "What's going on?" I look around everywhere but I don't see Reid anywhere "Spencer where are you?" a voice comes through the earpiece Dylan had forgotten to take off us "I'm still inside" "What!" "I had to make sure you all got out I knew this was going to happen so I trailed behind" Emily's voice came through the earpiece as well "Spencer this wasn't part of the plan" "Yeah Emily it was I just knew you wouldn't go along with it" "Please Spence come out we lost you once and just got you back please don't make us lose you again" "I am so sorry but I don't have a choice there is nothing I can do the doors sealed" "There has to be something" "You guys are my family and I am doing this to protect you because I love you guys goodbye" "No Spence, Spence No" but it was dead he had taken the earpiece off, the rest of the SWAT team that weren't taking Dylan's men away were trying to pull the team back from the warehouse to get enough distance so we wouldn't be injured I was trying desperately to get back to try and find a way to help him and that's when it exploded right in front of me the flames were high in the sky and I knew then that this time I had truly lost my little brother.
