It was the first day of College, in a new city, a new country, new everything. I knew no one, and could barely speak the city's primary language. It was lunchtime, I had bought some chicken and chips, sitting next to the staircase by a fountain. A group of people from my orientation class gathered around there as well. A discussion about starting a group chat for the class came up and I volunteered to do so. Then someone said they'd help me so we exchanged numbers. We created a conversation while eating together. We barely spoke after that. She had her friends. I had mine. Well, not friends just people we were getting to know who we spent time with. One day we walked to the bus stop together. She taught me how to save money by using the bus and not a taxi. There was a 300% difference. I know it sounds unbelievable but believe me. This is not fiction, it is a real-life event. We began to grow toward each other as we stood at the bus stop waiting for a bus, as she showed me around town, as we shared lunch, as she pushed me to study, as we spoke about the future, as she slowly opened up to me, as I slowly fell in love.
