I used to watch him from a distance, not in a - in love with him- kind of way but in a -wow he is different- kind of way. We spoke in passing, a few hi and lows. Always wanted to know the real him, the person behind the toughness, the character displayed for the world. During my final exams that year I decided to go to the library along with a friend, Grace. He found out and asked to join. I had no problem with that. I suspected she liked him. She bought food for us one day. We sat under the sun outside the library and he gave me his love life summary. So it began. Every morning we would sit by the artificial grass at school in the rising sun until the heat was too much to bear and we move to the shade. Every afternoon we were at the library, learning a new thing about him every day. Sometimes Grace was there or Daniel, his friend. On one of the days when we were both not writing, we decided to meet up at the library. We were practising Math, then we moved to Organic chemistry which I was teaching him. Well, we didn't really get much work done but I still learnt a lot that day, like how to get a six-pack. In the afternoon my sister arrived and he went nuts. He thought my sister was cute, his reaction was cute. My sister was shading something which she said was for school. I told her to try harder, he wrote in his book "be nice ". That melted the solid ice-cold outer layer of my heart. He wrote a question paper for her, well he tried. When it was time to leave we decided to go buy some milkshakes at the Pizza place near the library, he ordered a double-thick and my sister and I a regular one. His came out like ice cream, literally, he couldn't suck it up to his straw. We left my sister at her pick spot and we walked to the station. He told me about his father, and how he was a well-respected man as a police chief. His dream is to become a better man than his father. My train arrived and I left, I had AP Math that afternoon...
